Ohio State Men's Lacrosse (2013 ECAC Champions)

I have U13s this year as well. We'll have a strong team too. Six of the kids play club ball year round and another three beyond that should. If the second and third lines come together for me, it will be a competitive season. The first lines can run with any team we face... The second and third are always the question for us.

We're also going to be starting an off season club out here. My son plays for an elite club but I'd like to start something that is formal but not something that kids are getting on tour buses every two weeks and airplanes all summer. It just takes the game away from so many kids who want to play but aren't either quite that level or for those who don't have $8000 a year to throw at club ball.

Best of luck to your kids this season. May your concussions be few and your goals many.

Inside Lacrosse (free): Matt Davies - Attack

Matt Davies, A, Taft School (Conn.) has verbally committed to Ohio State. Davies is a transfer from Dover-Sherborn (Mass.), where he was a starter on back-to-back state championship squads, putting up 57 goals and 20 assists this past spring. He also plays varsity football and hockey at Taft. A member of Laxachusetts, the 6-1, 190-pound recruit was an All-Star at Legacy and King of the Hill. He strongly considered Harvard, Michigan, Maryland and Georgetown.

Another OT loss. This one to UMass.

Here's the highlight Vid

Rough start to the season.

We seem to be missing on athletes. In a settled situation we really don't seem like we have anyone that is strong at taking his man off the dodge. Nick's got his work cut out this year. I didn't expect to be rebuilding this much.

Either way, it's LAX season, so I can't complain too much.

Tough loss to DU today. Bucks hung with them for 3 quarters, tied 4-4, then DU exploded for 5 straight goals. Final 9-5. About 40 degrees with a stiff wind, so terrible playing conditions. Not so great for sitting in the stands either. Good turnout by Buckeye alums.

2 & 6. Last loss was to Notre Lame.

Inside Lacrosse - 3/28 - Stock Watch
Ohio State — The Buckeyes are on sale. Their value has been reduced based on a 2-6 record, including a snowy Tuesday loss to Notre Dame. Here comes a turnaround against Jacksonville, Delaware, Michigan and Air Force. The Eastern College Athletic Conference automatic qualifier should boil down to the Buckeyes and Fairfield.

LaxPower - Team Effort Helps Ohio State Throttle Jacksonville

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A team effort led Ohio State to a 13-2 victory over Jacksonville Saturday in rainy Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, as the Buckeyes (3-6, 1-0 ECAC) closed a three-game homestand.

“It was a collective effort,” Nick Myers, Ohio State head coach, said. “Defensively, we took it as a challenge after not playing our best Tuesday. The offense did a good job of maintaining possession and we won some faceoffs. We were sharing the ball and kept it pretty simple. This week it was back to basics and get the ball moving. It was good to get a lot of players through our lineup today.”
