Swept by Minny, who's legit this year. This might be a bit more of a rebuilding year than I had hoped for. Nappier is balls out, but there's only so much he can do when the other team is doubling and tripling up on us in shots on goal.
Lots of new faces, hoping they improve, but Minny dominated those games. I watched both of them and remembered my visit to the Schott last season to watch Minny sweep the Bucks, only OSU was the better team. The Gophers looked like the better team this time.
NAPPIER AND TRELOAR EARN B1G STAR OF THE WEEK HONORS
Ohio State men’s hockey senior goalie Tommy Nappier and freshman forward Travis Treloar have been named Big Ten Second and Third Star of the Week, respectively, the B1G announced Tuesday. The duo led the Buckeyes in a split with Michigan State over the weekend.
Two-game home series with Arizona State results in a 4-4 tie and a 3-2 loss. Not quite the way the Bucks wanted to end the 2020 portion of their slate.
After a three-week hiatus, Ohio State men’s hockey returned to action with a series split against Penn State.
The Buckeyes (4-7-1) dominated in the series opener, downing Penn State (5-7-0) 6-3. In the second game, the Nittany Lions netted two late empty-net goals to secure a 5-2 victory and series split against the Buckeyes.
In the midst of an up-and-down season, the Buckeyes could not turn the tide and string together wins against the Spartans.
Ohio State (5-10-1) and Michigan State (6-8-2) each took a game in a two-game series in East Lansing, Michigan. The Buckeyes jumped on the Spartans to open the series — winning 5-1 — but they could not keep the momentum rolling into Game 2 as they dropped the series finale 2-0.
