Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY… MONEY! Ohio State football ranks near the top of Division I in spending, according to The Athletic. Ohio State men’s basketball? Mmm, not so much.
According to CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander and Isaac Trotter, the Buckeyes rank in Tier 4 for program spending, with a budget between $12.1 million and $15 million.
Ohio State trails Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Illinois, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, St. John’s, Tennessee, Texas and Texas Tech in Tier 1 (over $20 million); Arkansas, UConn, Indiana and Kansas in Tier 2 (just under $20 million); and Arizona, Auburn, Cincinnati, Gonzaga, Houston, Miami, Michigan State, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas A&M, USC and Vanderbilt in Tier 3 ($15.1 million to $17.5 million).
That’s a lot of teams!
Still, I believe in the roster Jake Diebler has assembled for this season. Ohio State enters the season unranked but on the cusp of the AP Top 25. I believe this is an NCAA Tournament team with the potential for much more, and I’m excited to see John Mobley Jr. and Amare Bynum take the floor Nov. 2 against BYU.
