Game Thread Ohio State @ Maryland - 11/17/18, 12:00PM (ABC)

Good analysis.

I disagree. The reason the guy was wide open was because he threw a screen in a pick play. The guy covering him correctly traded off to the primary target in the flat and blanketed him. The primary's cover guy probably should have traded to cover the open receiver- but ohio state still made the 3rd string qb go to a secondary target in a high pressure situation with a LB in his path.

An illegal pick wasn't called, so isn't that what the analysis basically said?

Re: What is college football’s ineligible man-downfield rule?
Straight from the NCAA rulebook:
No originally ineligible receiver shall be or have been more than three yards beyond the neutral zone until a passer throws a legal forward pass that crosses the neutral zone. A player is in violation of this rule if any part of his body is beyond the three-yard limit.

Since the play started on the 3 yard line, I'll say he was downfield slightly more than 3 yards.

Indiana seems to be holding
Absolutely... if we go to the playoffs and get routed good luck ever getting the benefit of the doubt again.

If we cant win it I'd rather sit it out too

We've all watched the same games this season. MD is not a good team and we squeaked by. Purdue, also not a good team, and we didn't. 10-1, and that's good, but one has to be a blind homer to like this season.

Further, the overall Big Ten quality... from us, to the Peds, to Sparty, to that other team.... just doesn't feel right. Yeah, the SEC games the schedule to pad their stats, but measure this year's B1G vs itself historically and I see discipline, execution, fight, and fire issues.

If we want the conference to get the benefit of the doubt, we need to be the Big Ten of a decade or two ago and play quality football.

For example, just now, IU loses a fumble..... 2 plays later, *ichigan throws an interception. It's exciting football, but it's not good football.
