Game Thread Ohio State @ Maryland - 11/17/18, 12:00PM (ABC)

I remember a team that had to get lucky to beat Cincinnati, have a miracle to beat a 6-loss Purdue, and needed overtime vs a 7-loss Illinois..... im not saying this team is like that one...just trying to put this in perspective. We’re 10-1 and still in every race.

And before the “I don’t want this team to play Alabama” people come back out...I remember that same team beating an all-time Miami team that we didn’t belong on the same field against.
That team didn't get beat by 3 TDs by said 6-loss Purdue though.

Not a good comparison. That defense was elite and any team with a defense like that could win any game. Tressel was always conservative on offense.

Why does it take our D coaching staff until halftime to make adjustments? Maryland was gonna do nothing but run through O-line slants. They had one deep pass that was well thrown. Other than that, the D should have stacked the box. Is the entire D run as a whole unit or as groups? Because the D-line didn't change their aggression until after half. Does that equate the adjustments needed to be made everywhere? If so, that's piss poor management.

Shit needs to change sooner if we want to win next week against that dingledouche.

Did it look as bad as it sounded on the radio call, or worse?

Probably worse. To be fair, there was a good stretch in 3rd and 4th Q where defense did very well and allowed O to make up a lot of ground. But they started and finished the game in pure dumpster fire mode. They almost had a partial redemption towards the end after giving up a big play and pushing them back from the goal line... until Arnette got handsy on an uncatchable ball.

The offense was sloppy all game. Could have easily scored another 21 points if they played clean.
And that's one of the most frustrating things about this team week after week... poor discipline... penalties and turnovers. On Offense. On Defense. On special teams. And, for me, one of the signals that the coaching is failing the players.

Like all of those holding penalties against the Terps' offense that never got a flag?

And the Godforsaken fake punt Holding that wasnt called in the open field. No one play was the difference in the game but momentum killers/builders are huge when they happen

Just sayin': When you are playing a team that you are more than a 2 touchdown favorite to beat, you shouldn't be in such a close game at the end where one bad officiating call (or no call) can beat you.
