I care. The replacement is something right out of Disneyland faux architecture. I loved the old limestone steps at the entrance, groves worn in them from the constant passing of students. There was a sense of history to the place that is completely missing from the campus.Just a great photo:
I'm sure nobody really cares, but, I actually have a brick from the original University Hall. Back in August 1971 the original University Hall was demolished. I hopped the construction fence to grab a brick.

My mom and dad were students at the time and were "shocked" what happened at Kent. St. didn't happen at OSU.Remembering May 4th and 5th 1970.
Fifty years ago today. I'd been back from Vietnam for 9 months, trying to complete my undergrad degree. Student riots broke out following Nixon's announcement that US and South Vietnamese troops had entered Cambodia.
I went to the oval in the morning, armed with my cameras. I quickly realized that the Guard troops were carrying rifles with live ammunition. What happened that afternoon at Kent State could have happened in Columbus or any number of other schools.
That night I watched the news from Kent State. My fears of what might happen on the Oval happened at Kent and could have happened on almost any campus. Walter Cronkite finished his report and CBS ran a list of colleges that had shut down; a list that ran from Amherst to Youngstown State. Ohio State was shut down for two weeks and wouldn't fully reopen until the next fall.

Seems like a fantastic candidate.STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK CHANCELLOR KRISTINA JOHNSON SET TO BECOME OHIO STATE'S NEXT UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT, PER REPORTS
Ohio State reportedly has its new university president.
State University of New York chancellor Kristina Johnson has accepted the job and will be Michael Drake's successor, according to reports by Carl Campanile of the New York Post and Rachel Silberstein of the Times Union.
An unsigned letter of resignation to the State University of New York indicates she has agreed to become Ohio State's new president, beginning Sept. 1, per Silberstein's report.
Johnson has been SUNY's chancellor since September 2017. Previously, Johnson was the CEO of Cube Hydro Partners, a clean-infrastructure company that builds and operates hydropower plants in North America. Before that, Johnson served as the Secretary of Energy for the U.S. Department of Energy.
A Ph.D. in electrical engineering who graduated from Stanford University, Johnson's previous work in academia includes serving as the dean of Duke University's engineering school from 1999-2007 and the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Johns Hopkins University from 2007-09.
Ohio State has not yet announced Johnson's hiring, but the university's Board of Trustees is set for a scheduled meeting on Wednesday.
Drake announced in November that he would retire as Ohio State's president this year. He is remaining on Ohio State's faculty and will serve as president emeritus for the 2020-21 academic year.
