Game Thread Ohio State at Wisconsin, 10/15/16, 8:00pm ET ABC/WatchESPN

Wisconsin will always have better odds then most to beat our bucks but it's going to take more then just us not throwing well to lose this game.

They have to win the LOS against the best offensive line in maybe the country, they have to win the turnover battle against a team that is one of the leading teams in turnover differential, and they need to win the field position battle against a team that has Cam Johnston as the punter.

They don't win all three of those things they will not beat us. The odds of them doing that are not good and this is coming from a guy who's been very critical of our throw game since Saturday.

Only team in my mind we cannot afford to make plays against throwing wise is scum. Everyone else it frankly doesn't matter. We won't be happy and we will all be concerned if we can't throw the ball but it's not essential.

I can give my outlook from up here in dairyland.

I really don't see Wisconsin staying in this one without some help from OSU. And that's not just me sandbagging. Their two biggest wins (LSU and MSU) don't look quite as good in retrospect.

The offense, once again, lacks playmakers. Corey Clement was supposed to be the go-to cog in the offense but is "just a guy" right now. The offensive line isn't up to snuff. Hornibrook has a promising future and is probably better as a freshman than Stave ever was (not saying much), but he has a weak arm and can be rattled. If there is anyone to watch out for in the pass game, it's tight end Troy Fumagalli and wide receiver Rob Wheelwright. Chryst will have to call a heck of a game in this one; I'm not really concerned about that.

The defense is pretty damn solid. The injuries to linebackers Orr and Biegel hurt, but Cichy, Edwards, and Watt are all more than capable. The defensive line is serviceable but not great. I suspect that some yards can be had against the secondary, but they haven't given up many big plays to this point.

Night game in Camp Randall will always have me concerned. Historically I don't have fond memories of that place. Wisky's defense will be solid I think but I believe if we stick to what works and have some early success throwing the ball it should keep the run there all game. I expect the defense to play another solid game Lattimore is due to a pick. I think this game is close but the good guys pull away for a 17 point win. Only guy I am concerned with is the TE. I wouldn't doubt that Urban has them ready for prime time this weekend. They seem to get up for the big night games.

Being the homer that I am I think our defense would have beaten scUM by two scores. I thought Spunkt should have been picked off at least another 3 times that game. While the skunk weasels are patting themselves on the back this week for crushing a beaten Rutgers team, I think they will see what a talented offense can do to the badger defense this week. Not saying it will be easy or anything, but in the end it won't be close.
