I can believe there were plenty of folks with your mindset at the start of the Rose. When Nike went up 20 points, I can also believe had it been the late game, the ratings would have dropped significantly.
I watched with seven or eight friends and we were interested at first, but quickly turned to the BTN pregame program until closer to the Sugar Bowl kickoff time.

I'm not arguing that no one would have watched the Rose, just that plenty of tOSU fans inflated the ratings a bit. I have a hard time believing tOSU vs Bama would only have slightly higher ratings if the games were switched or played on different nights altogether.
