Didn't see the game, but noticed this halftime score. Yeouch! A 28-point ape-raping in one half...

It was 18-14 at one point. Then OSU ended the half on a 27-3 run. :yow1:

0 turnovers in the first half for OSU. At the half, Iowa had more turnovers than rebounds. (11-8). Ouch.

Lighty, Butler and Turner carried this team last night, last game the freshmen did most of the scoring. Lighty looks better in a running style which was prompted in part last night by the press we used. I need 5o see him have a good game against a slower tempo. He does well with his passing and playmaking for the most part. Hunter looked forceful and took it to the basket very well as he took over the scoring the second half after Lighty did it the first. I was glad to see Wallace and

and a foul to end the half at the end just for bk.

what we learned last night...nothing. this iowa team had nearly 260tos in 15 games.

good to see some youngsters and some of the guys who dont play much rewarded with quality minutes.

That was the best thing about last night's game... get some of the guys a little lower on the bench some minutes and confidence (Hill, Wallace, Lauderdale) because they will be needed sometime down the road.

We just need to continue to improve...Not sure we are ready for the big boys just quite yet, but we are getting good play from just about anyone that is stepping on the floor...
They're coming quick though... tough 3 game road stretch ahead. If the Bucks come back home 2-1 I'll be very pleased... 3-0 and I'll be pleasantly shocked.

Terrible when the mind goes :tongue2:.
I think we looked as good last night as we have all year. This was the most rounded game we have played all year on both sides of the ball. While Iowa isn't a very good team, we have played teams equal to them and not played as well as we did last night . Good Job Team !

While Iowa is not very good, I liked our intensity on defense especially in the full court. We also seemed to be doing a better job locating people in our half-court zone.

I think Lighty seemed to play more under control last night on the offensive side and hopefully he will continue to contribute that he did last night. Hunter played surprisingly well on offense and that can bode well for the team as the season progresses.

What else can you say about Butler that has not been said:). He is just playing so well.

Saturday will be a good indication as to how far we have come since the beginning of the season.

On the first half
?I thought we got off to a great start. The big challenge was coming in with a lot of energy. I think our defense got our offense going. It was the kind of defense we have been looking for.?
On team participation
?We were fortunate tonight to get some guys some minutes. We have not been able to do that much this season.?
On having no turnovers in the first half
?The pace of our offense was better tonight. Coming off of the Northwestern game that was a big concern for us. Focus and concentration and team maturity has been the biggest challenge.?
On players coming off the bench
?I thought our guys did a pretty decent job. Eric and P.J. did well and Kyle played tremendous. They had a good idea of what Iowa was doing.?
On Iowa?s defense
?I think we were pretty prepared. We knew we would see their 1-1-3 defense at some point and we did. When they went to it, Othello saw it and I think we ended up getting a basket out of it.?

?Watching Jamar, he has a great command of what is going on. He has a great command of the game. He has improved reading the game and is better at reading the pick-and-roll. He has a lot more patience.?

On playing while ill
?It was good to play only 21 minutes tonight. I?m pretty sick right now. I could have gone 40 minutes if I needed to. Our training staff did a great job to get me ready to play.?
On beating Iowa by 31 points
?I think they?re a good team. Anybody can have a night like that. They?ve played some tough games recently since the Big Ten is such a good conference. I also think it was good for our young guys to get a lot of minutes tonight.?
David Lighty, sophomore guard
On Ohio State?s defense
?Our defense got us going tonight. We pressured the ball really well and got lots of steals. It was a fun game to play in tonight because everybody got involved. It was good for me personally because I finally started making lay-ups. It got my confidence going.?

The biggest difference I see in this team from early in the season is the intensity on the defensive end on every possesion by the other team......they are playing hard. This team is not that far from giving Michigan State and Indiana problems.
Totally agree but I would include Wisconsin in addition to MSU and Indiana. The one big concern that I have going up against these three teams is their size and depth of size across the front line.
