Really hope the crowd shows up and gets loud for this game...This is a big one in terms of seeing where we might go this year as a team...

Hey bkochmc just curious what the projections would be if this game were being played at Minny?

Not an easy game coming up by any stretch.

I'm actually very surprised at how Minny has played so far this season. I wasnt impressed with Tubby Smith at UK but he's done a great job thus far in Minnesota.

The game @Minnesota on 3/1 is projected at 66-65 in favor of the Gophers, OSU given a 42% chance of winning... here's where I get these projections:

2008 basketball schedule for Ohio St.

Right now the Bucks are projected to beat MSU in their regular season finale... that'd be nice for the tourny resume.

From what little I've seen of them, they run what seems to be a pretty tough zone, somewhat similar to Northwestern's, but with a LOT more athleticism. That gave OSU some fits; hopefully they can take better care of the ball against the Gophers.

Minnesota is a pretty senior laden team with Dan Coleman, Spencer Tollackson, and Lawerence McKenzie...

They are not the most athletic team, but they have guys that can score, and a frosh Hoffarber that can really shoot the three...We will have our handful here...

I think we can out athlete them at about every position position, and if we rebound, play good defense and take care of the ball, we should be able to win this game by about 10+...

My gut tells me it is going to be a close game tho, because I have a feeling that we will struggle with some of those things...

We better play good inside zone defense and rebound as a team or they will kill us on the offensive boards with their height across their front-line. We might have better athletes but they are a much physical team than we have been all season. I have only seen them play at home also.

Just one thing to mention is that Minny will also play zone and they have struggled rebounding on the defensive end as well...Even with their size...
