Ohio State 73 Miami (Fl.) 68 (Final)

There is no reason to get out of the zone...The zone is not at all one of the problems...The only reason the zone can be looked at as a problem, woudl be due to the rebounding problems at times, but that woudl be a problem in zone as well, due to the alck of two true big guys playing together and us playing with Lighty at the 4 spot...

We are playing in the zone very good...And I don't see BJ getting pushed around tonight...I think we will see a good game out of him and Dallas...They will be up for the challenge...

Just my opinion but maybe Thad feels that against Miami his players are not quite ready to handle one on one just yet.

Yes- We're still in zone, because we are so young and not ready to man up at this level yet. The lack of experience due to these one and done guys is a cost of wonderful recruiting. It's double edged sword in many ways.

In addition to rebounding, one of the other reasons that I like to see them play some man-to-man is that with their athleticism and length I think they can create more turnovers playing man-to-man rather than zone. Plus, as you well know, when you play a zone defense you really don't have specific boxing out the other players. You more or less have to block out a "space" which is not the easiest thing to do.

Totally agree with your second paragraph. We will be fine tonight.

Yeah, I agree. Our guys out front are very active and recover very well in our zone. It just stinks to watch Dallas and BJ flying out on the baseline to get a hand in the 3 pt shooters face. Totally takes them out of the rebounding equation.

Our inside guys will be fine. Lighty needs to step it up, and Diebler needs to stay hot with his shot.

Kyle Madsen also needs to see min's, he brings intensity, hustle, and energy to the team whenever he steps on the court.

:oh:

The season starts tonight for tOSU............we will find out either how close we are or how far away............

Miami averages around 10 + offensive rebounds per game.........we need Mullens to be physical.........

Turner limit your turnovers and Lighty needs to get off..........

I am anxious for this game but also very worried.......
