Ohio State 69, Virginia Tech 56 (Final)

I'm well aware of the history. I also know we have been down for a while. I was talking about a stereotype, not my personal opinion.

OSU attendance (Chicago St & Butler): 64%
WFU attendance (vs nobody @ home): 100%
ILL attendance (vs nobody @ home): 100%
MSU attendance (vs IPFW, cupcake): 100%

there is no comparison. this trend will change, and our history will be revived this season, but we cannot complain about being called a football school

edit: I realize we have a much larger capacity. however, we still leave tons of primetime seats unfilled early on.

if we're such a mighty basketball school that it is foolish beyond belief for me to question it, why are tons of prime seats wide open? If we failed to fill up the upper deck for these early games, it wouldn't bother me.

We should be well over 15,000 if we are as worthy of worship in bball as you suggest.

Otis, I realize we have a much richer tradition than any of those schools. That doesn't make us a bigger basketball school right now in the eyes of the nation. That WILL change very soon.

I've been going to our BBall games for 16 years now and I'll tell you we're a football school. Our BBall fans come and go as the team does well or struggles. Our bball following is not as large and any of the three teams Josh listed. Matta can change that, but for anyone to question that we're a football school with a minority following basketball is flat out wrong

40% of our seats were empty. we have half as many national TV games as Illinois. we are not elite yet. we are one of the best all time bball schools, but we are not a big basketball school right now.

Why is this thread more about debating whether OSU is a big time basketball school or not? What's it matter? We are what we are...who cares what others think. If you love OSU basketball, then you love it. Does it matter what the rest of the world thinks? We are going to be good...real good in the very near future. But we also are an amazing football school...so I don't care if the football team overshadows the basketball team, but it seems to me they are both going to be in the spotlight here soon. Two great coaches.
Anyway this thread should be about the game. It's going to be a big one. First real test for both of these schools, with a lot on the line. The Big 10/ACC challenge has turned into a pretty heated competition. Tech seems to have a good backcourt. I don't think they will shoot as well as Butler did from the peremiter. If we shoot well, I don't think we will have a problem. I'd like to see us win the battle on the boards. REBOUND BUCKEYES!!!

Well we are looking pretty strong on the offensive end. I think we are giving them Too many second chances though and Terrance getting his second foul is not going to help. What does everyone think about the Gray on the top of the jerseys? I think its pretty cool.
