Ohio State 69 Indiana 72 (Final)

I could see Turner running the point next year. He has shown the ability to break down the D, penetrate the lane and dish to the open man. I also love his mid-range game. Othello is the only other guy on the roster that has shown the ability to knock down a 12-15 ft. jump shot. How does Turner, Lighty, Diebler, Mullens and Koufos sound with Buford and Crater getting a ton of minutes? Sorry, I don't think Hill is going to get it done in the Big 10 next year. I hope Crater can give them an instant lift or we may be going through similiar struggles next year. Shooting has to get better, right????

Im proud of this team for the effort tonight. They were at a hostile arena against a talented team and despite a horrendous first half, were almost the ones with the W at the end. Theres still more than a shot at the dance, and would love to see KK do this every game.

Talk about hostile...the crowd sounded downright nasty! Maybe it was just the placement of the microphones or something...but it sounded loud and hostile. I loved the smack talk that KK did after some blocks. He finally looked a little animated.

Keep your chins up fellas...that's a very talented IU team. Losing sucks, but nice effort.

koufos obviously!! no, i was thinking about putting pj hill in there, but i think koufos is faster than he is :wink2:
Crater is our PG. Turner/Offutt might be able to handle the backup duties along with Hill... but Evan cannot consistently attack and distribute like Noopy.

Hooray for coach: Dakich cheered; Hoosiers top OSU

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Dan Dakich thinks Indiana basketball should be about the players. One day soon, it might be again.

Not yet.

The Hoosiers' high-profile coaching change again overshadowed basketball last night, and Indiana fans showered Dakich with a victory stroll after No. 12 Indiana beat Ohio State 72-69 - even though Dakich didn't think he deserved it.

"Indiana made the plays tonight, please don't take anything away from them," Matta said. "They have a great basketball team and they got the tip-ins and hit the 3 in the corner. I think that was the big difference there."

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Kosta Koufos said he has seen clips of the movie Groundhog Day but has never sat through the whole film.
He'll never have to now. He's starring in the sequel.
Every game is the same game over and over and over again for the Ohio State men's basketball team.
For the sixth time in as many losses over the past 5 1/2 weeks, the Buckeyes had chances to tie or take the lead in the last six minutes against No. 12 Indiana last night. For the sixth time, the shots didn't fall and it was the Buckeyes who fell instead, 72-69 in Assembly Hall before a loud, sellout crowd that saw the Hoosiers' first home game since the resignation last week of coach Kelvin Sampson.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL INDIANA 72OHIO ST. 69
Skidding Bucks slip-sliding away

Plain Dealer Reporter

Bloomington, Ind.- With a dropped pass out of bounds, a de fensive lapse that allowed a dunk, and a missed boxout that led to an offensive rebound slam, Ohio State coach Thad Matta sighed, slumped and even threw his head down on the scorer's table for a moment Tuesday night.
By the end of the Buckeyes' 72-69 loss at Indiana, which finished off his worst month at Ohio State, Matta was forced to take what he could get. This loss to the Hoosiers (24-4, 13-2 Big Ten), in the home debut for interim head coach Dan Dakich, wasn't as bad as the last few.
"I haven't felt real good all year," Matta said. "I don't feel awful. I thought we competed."

I think we may be spoiled. OSU fans are used to nothing less than a Championship Game appearance in a "rebuilding year"

Great times are ahead with the guys they have coming in the next couple (3?) of years. Gotta ride out this storm.
