Ohio State 68, Purdue 75 (Final)

Purdue plays some intense man D and will be in our guys face as soon as they cross the halfcourt line. Protecting the ball will be key. If we handle their pressure, we'll be fine. I don't think they'll score much on us, but this could be a grind-it-out kind of game.

Go Bucks!

We will be in their faces as soon as they take the ball out of bounds on a made basket!
Matta> Painter

Really, I hope to see the intensity on the Defensive side that the Bucks have gained the last few outings. Purdue will give our wings (Turner) fits if they don't protect the ball on each possession. Should be a real competitive game, plus a good road environment for the young Bucks.

It seems to me that the guys are starting to get it together and play to their full level

lets see if they can pull off another big 10 road win and be 4-0 in big 10 play heading into Michigan State on Tuesday

We will also have a big advantage with our big guys...They don't have a physical presence down low and we are just as athletic on the outside if not more, and while we are young, Purdue is even younger...Would really like to see a solid 10 pt road win at Purdue, for us to continue to build confidence.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Boilers at crossroads

January 12, 2008
BY MICHAEL OSIPOFF Post-Tribune staff writer

These are the types of games that likely will determine the direction of Purdue's season.

But the Boilermakers won't be entirely healthy when they play Ohio State today.
Rob Hummel missed the game against Michigan State because of illness and didn't practice on Thursday. Scott Martin and Tarrance Crump are nursing ankle injuries, Keaton Grant's knee has been an ongoing issue and Chris Kramer is consistently banged up.
All should play against the Buckeyes (12-3, 3-0 Big Ten), but nothing was guaranteed.
"Everybody goes through it," Purdue's Matt Painter said matter-of-factly. The Boilermakers (10-5, 1-1) have lost eight straight games to Ohio State, and 14 of 15. The Buckeyes lost Greg Oden and Mike Conley from last season's national runner-up, but they still figure to be comfortably in the upper half of the Big Ten.

Sagarin likes us by 7 points, but I also have the fear that "birthday boy" has. Letdown.

Actually, I have this thing about letdown. It was 1977 and February and Teresa wanted to, well, on her balcony, uh, there was snow out there man, it's not like... :paranoid:

Anyway, I'm betting that Matta has them revved for this three game swing and they need to bring down this win.

I like the Bucks by 7.
