MEN'S BASKETBALL: Boilers at crossroads

These are the types of games that likely will determine the direction of Purdue's season.
But the Boilermakers won't be entirely healthy when they play Ohio State today.
Rob Hummel missed the game against Michigan State because of illness and didn't practice on Thursday. Scott Martin and Tarrance Crump are nursing ankle injuries, Keaton Grant's knee has been an ongoing issue and Chris Kramer is consistently banged up.
All should play against the Buckeyes (12-3, 3-0 Big Ten), but nothing was guaranteed.
"Everybody goes through it," Purdue's Matt Painter said matter-of-factly. The Boilermakers (10-5, 1-1) have lost eight straight games to Ohio State, and 14 of 15. The Buckeyes lost Greg Oden and Mike Conley from last season's national runner-up, but they still figure to be comfortably in the upper half of the Big Ten.
