MEN'S BASKETBALL
Ohio State a tough task for ailing PSU

About the only thing going right for Penn State's offense these days limped into the Bryce Jordan Center's main gym Monday, a large bag of ice wrapped around his left knee.
For the second time in as many days, Jamelle Cornley didn?t practice, but the Nittany Lions? junior forward is optimistic he will be on the court at 7 p.m. tonight to meet his hometown team, the Ohio State Buckeyes.
?It?s a precautionary thing, making sure I don?t overdo it, and making sure I rest as much as possible,? said Cornley, who was listed as ?day-to-day? by head coach Ed DeChellis and will need clearance from team doctors. ?But I?ll be fine.?
Cornley, who has averaged a team-high 14 points per game since leading scorer Geary Claxton was lost for the season with a torn ACL in the Wisconsin game on Jan. 15, aggravated his knee early in Saturday?s first half at Iowa the same way he injured it in the preseason ? jumping for a rebound. The Columbus, Ohio native played 17 second-half minutes anyway, going 5-for-5 from the field and scoring 11 of his 15 points.

Revenge is no factor
Columbus native Cornley has no grudge against hometown team.
Though a Columbus native, junior forward Jamelle Cornley doesn't focus on revenge when he plays against Ohio State.
More important to Cornley is that his Nittany Lions (10-9, 2-5 Big Ten) will try to end their five-game losing streak when they play Ohio State at 7 tonight in the Bryce Jordan Center.
"It's always fun to play them because that's where I'm from," Cornley said. "A lot of people tend to blow it up a little more than what it is -- just for the simple fact seeing that they didn't offer me [a scholarship], I've got some type of grudge."
With his house just 10 minutes from Ohio State's campus, Cornley attended Brookhaven High School, where he started for four years. In his career, he scored more than 1,620 points and led his team to the regional finals of the playoffs his senior season. Cornley verbally committed to Penn State in 2004 after receiving interest from schools like Butler and Bowling Green.

7-11
2-15
2-4, on the way to...what...maybe 3-15 when this season comes to a merciful end
Of those astounding 15 Big Ten wins in 5 years, nearly 1/2 (7) have come against Northwestern!
