Ohio State 68 Penn State 56 (Final)

Yay! First post in the thread!!! Look at me!

Anyways, I'm shocked that Penn State isn't pulling in more votes in the AP poll with that 10-9 record (cough... cincy... cough... CSU). I love that ESPN is carrying this game. I'm in Baltimore this week - right next to the waterfront ESPN Zone - and wasn't sure if a BTN game would be available.

Agreed, OBJ. I'm expecting a win, but would expect it in the 6-8 point range, rather than a blowout. PSU always seems to play OSU tough, regardless of records...OSU has beaten them 8 times in the last 3 seasons. Excluding a lone blowout from 05-06, the average score of these games has been 68-61, despite OSU having a markedly better record every season.

Average score @ PSU - OSU - 68.33, PSU 60.67

2006-07 - OSU (35-4), PSU (11-19)
@OSU - 68-60
@PSU - 64-62

2005-06 - OSU (26-6), PSU (15-15)
@OSU - 104-69
@PSU - 75-64
B10 Tourn - 63-56

2004-05 - OSU (20-12), PSU (7-23)
@OSU 68-62
@PSU 66-56
B10 Tourn - 72-69

All that being said, this is a game OSU cannot afford to screw up. I don't expect them to lose, but I do expect to come out of it a bit exasperated that they let PSU hang around until the end.

Agree with both posts above but this year they really don't have a go to Guy now that they have lost Claxton. I would think that Hunter and KK should have their way along the front. PSU looks very deflated against Iowa this past Saturday but then again that was on the road. Let's beat them by 10 and get out of town.

I can just see all of the posts coming now about how we should get some time for the bench players. As the to posts have stated this might not be as easy as everyone thinks. Let's hope so but let's not get carried away before the game is played.

Wasn't that B10 Tourney game in 04-05 a crazy-huge comback for the Bucks? I remember thinking that Matta got his 20 wins through beating the #1 team in the country and then coming back from a mile behind in the tourney.

There was a huge comeback against PSU and the Crispin brothers, but that was pre-Matta.

EDIT - 2001 regular season game at Penn State. Down 51-31 at the half, OSU came back to win 93-87 on PSU's senior day.

EDIT II - You were right. OSU was down 15 in the first half, cut it to 11 at the half. PSU was still up by 11 with 10:28 to go, but would not hit another field goal until there were just 18 seconds left.
