Game Thread Ohio State 6, Penn State 13 (Oct. 25)

Down with the Domers

Notre Dame only has to be in the Top 8 or so to get a guaranteed slot. They only have to get to 9 wins to be eligible, and that is very doable IMHO.

They play Pitt, BC, Navy and Syracuse before USC. All 4 of those pre-USC match-ups are winnable. Pitt was over-rated before this past week, and still are in many minds. ND really does have a legit shot to beat them. BC is down this year.

No eligible ND team will be passed over, regardless of whether a more "deserving" team is available. BCS slots are not about what you "deserve".

Thank you for reminding me why I hate ND so much!

If a 9-3 ND team goes over us after our only two losses came to top 5 teams and they got spanked by sparty (yep...the same sparty we spanked in E Lansing) I will curse the golden domers for life! (wait...I already do that)...does BP have a "I hate Notre Dame room" so I am not too far off topic here?

BTW - Charlie Weis ATE the Chocolate Factory!

Great game to watch. I knew it would come down to whoever made a mistake and unfortunately it was us. Both teams came to play.

I love defensive showdowns.

I'm proud of our Bucks and I'm proud of the Lions. This did not dissapoint (too much lol)

Note to those intelligent Penn State fans. If you are in a foreign country looking for a BP mod to help you find a job, don't call him to tell share the wonderful news that Penn State won at Ohio State. GEt your rears kicked year after year and squeak one out over a team with a freshman quarterback and then talk smack. Real class. Makes that mod want to really, really help you out!

1.) Like we'd be interested in reliving that game, and
2.) We ban dipshits who join up solely to pimp their website

Might get banned for this but so be it. Unless we have some coaching changes, we are going to keep going through this. Play calling was horrible. Not at all taking advantage of the talent we have. Playing for field goals bites us in the ass as usual. The line was just bad. Again I think is at least part coaching. I cannot believe our talent at O-line is that bad.

The D played a good game, and I feel bad for them that we played for field goals again instead of unleashing some offense. Such it is though.

I don't think you will get banned for saying this. Sometimes i would hope that Coach T is going to pull at least a couple surprise plays but it never happened. I am puzzeled over this too.

I agree here, I keep waiting for JT to break out something new and amazing and shock the opposition, but it just hasn't there. It feels like he doesn't quite trust TP yet, which I can understand, the kid is a true freshman, but he's shown flashes of greatness, it seems weird to spend most of the time running the ball.

I know i am an older guy and some of my posts aren't as good as the others but football sure has changed since i was a younger buckeye fan. I come from the "Woody" era where we just ran ran and ran the ball and wore out the defensive line. That will never happen again. And our offensive lineman are so huge. What good is it to be huge and not quick in your foot movement. Penn State beat some of our tackles off the ball at a pretty good clip at times.

I was anticipating some kind of plays out in the flats but we seemed to be pounding it up the middle with little gain as if to maybe wear there D-line down abit. But like OCbuckfans said " Maybe Tressel doesn't quite trust TP yet" Would it have hurt to throw Todd Boeckman in there for just one series to see what would happen. After all he did throw 3 TD's against Penn State last year.

There is so much talent on this team now, so much more than we ever imagined. He has so many good players to deal with and that is hard i guess. It reminds of the old nursery rhyme. "There was an old lady who lived in the "Shoe"- she had so many kids that she did not know what to do" JUst alittle old humor there :biggrin:

If Boeckman had time, I think he could have sliced up that secondary. There were a lot of open WRs, some which Pryor missed, some which were targeted late, and others which were disrupted by the pass rush. Don't tell Lydell Sargeant though, he's still strutting around shushing everyone after a late throws bail him out (no I'm not talking about the INT celebration).

Pryor had to sidestep a lot of bodies yesterday. While Todd would have brought a more polished passing game, he also would have been sacked (or nearly so) at least a half dozen times, imo.

Todd Boeckman would have taken the brunt of the Maybin-Browning mismatch.

Everybody's talking about Pryor how about our defense giving up the touchdown while Clark was on the sidline hurt... That was our chance to put pressure on Devlin and we didnt.:osu:

Because the Defense went into the nickle package (!). This was not a game to celebrate coaching prowess for the OC or the DC.
