...but I stand firm in my belief that they lose that game 99 times out of 100. It just so happens that this last weekend was the one. Oh well.

No one bet against you with the chance to make 99/1? I would've put at least couple bucks in if I knew.

My friend here in Minnesota said to me the other day "who is your right tackle? Because guys were literally going in UNTOUCHED"....

See I was DRUNK AS HELL Saturday night... I remember 3 things.

1. The field Goal before the half
2. The fumble
3. The INT

My question is for next year could Browning be an odd man out in the starting line up?? The way I figured it'll be is Adams-Cordle-Brewster-Boren-Shuggarts.

No I agree that we certainly could have put up better numbers, but Pryor had time to throw the ball and wasn't sacked..a huge improvement from previous games and an amazing feat against a top-10 defense. How is that not a credit to the OL? I will definitely hand it to PSU though, they're big and fast, and a lot better than I had given them credit for.

However, I don't believe PSU won the game..I believe we lost it. Even with a couple penalties, we still had the game in the bag before the fumble. I will acknowledge that good teams don't beat themselves, and they capitalize on their opponents' mistakes, and PSU did that..but I stand firm in my belief that they lose that game 99 times out of 100. It just so happens that this last weekend was the one. Oh well.

Agreed, the game was in hand and that fumble on the Pryor scramble changed momentum and cost us the game. It happens! I still believe we played a hell of a game. I have a new found respect for State Penn (ok maybe not complete respect)

Where the hell did this team come from? I just can't believe the improvement over last years team.

Both teams played very well, and if it wasn't for that fumble it could've gone either way. Even after that fumble, OSU was only one strike away from OT.

This PSU team isn't that much different from last year's team except for the maturation of the OL if Joe used the same personel.

1) Kirk Herbstreit said last year that Royster would be a household name by October; this never happened because Joe let Scott/Kinlaw started because of seniority.

2a) Michigan game: Anthony Morelli fumbled at PSU's 10 yd line and Mich scored a TD as a result. We lost 9-14.

2b) ILL game: Anthony Morelli intercepted 3 times and lost 1 fumbled. We lost 20-27.

2c) OSU: Anthony Morelli should have been buckeyes' player of the game padding your DBs stats. PSU would've lost regardless, but it wouldn't have been so lopsided and at home PSU would have a chance to pull out a win if it was kept close.

2d) MSU: We lead 24-7 in the 3rd quarter before MSU came storming back to win 35-31. Morelli threw 4 straight incompletions to end the last drive.

2e) TX A&M in the Alamo Bowl: PSU was down 14 pts in the first quarter. JoePa finally had to let Royster and Clark in the game and PSU scored 17 2nd quarter points. Ended up winning 24-17 because Morelli kept coming back in to keep the game competitive.

OSU is having a good run and a couple big games lost is no cause to blame the team/coaches. It could've happened to any team especially when you have to play the other teams on their home fields. Look at USC, they were blanked 21-0 to a freshman(borderline highschool aged) team in the first half. They came back to make it a game because they were 3 deeps at every position, but if the talent was comparable they might've gotten blown out. How about GA vs Alabama? OK vs WV? LSU vs FLA and GA? These blowouts happen often, even in NC games and among teams with comparable talent. The coaches and players are way more concerned about fixing it than the fans.

Your frustration is nothing compare to what PSU went through the past 2 seasons with Morelli. The frustration stemming from the fact that he never improved, there was a lot of "pain" but no "growing". PSU should've been at least 11-2 last year, one loss to OSU and the other one to USC in the Rose if Morelli showed competency and not lose those games. It wouldn't be unheard of if JoePa pulled out a win over USC if MSU gave Morelli a finger sprain that would last a couple months. If we traded Morelli for TB, that would be enough for PSU to win the Big10 last year and for OSU to end up where PSU was.

Penn State 13, Ohio State 6

Penn State fan here,

Ohio State played a great game, giving Penn State the biggest scare so far all year. But Penn State perservered and won. Both teams were held way below their scoring averages, and I don't see either team scoring so low the rest of the year.

Last year, when many Ohio State fans (and Penn State fans) were saying that Penn State had no chance in the Shoe, this was one I had picked that I knew we'd win from last year. Also, last year, a few of you said something like "I hope they keep Joe Pa around forever so we can beat him every year", and I said something like "be careful what you wish for". Actually I don't remember if I said it, but I know I thought it.

I knew we'd win this game all along, even though fellow Nittany Lions fans had this game pegged as a loss, there was nothing logical to it, but just a hunch. But I decided to wait until we actually won to post anything about it, and that it would be my final post.

All I have to say is: Penn State 13, Ohio State 6.

Good luck in the Rose Bowl (or, if Penn State is shut out of the BCS Title Game, then your at-large BCS bid or the Capital One Bowl). Either way, I'll be cheering for you to bring back a bowl victory for the Big Ten. And I am really wishing you luck, not saying "good luck" in a sarcastic way.

That is all. Now go blow out Northwestern and show me you're the same team that played Penn State down to the wire!

Farewell,

MVillani1985

I think Browning will ikely see significant playing time as a backup at guard. It has become fairly obvious he isn't a RT...I'll be interested in seeing who backs up Shugarts

PSU Riots to celebrate win over OSU

Video: Crowds gather on Beaver Ave. - The Daily Collegian Online

So apparently they throw things at cops as well as fans/bands.

http://www.collegian.psu.edu/archive/2008/10/31/police_15_riot_participants_id.aspx
In the wake of a downtown disturbance involving several thousand students, State College Police say 15 individuals have been singled out for arrest within the week.
As of Friday, 15 people have been identified "as participating in the riot in various ways," and those people will be formerly charged next week, State College Police Chief Tom King said in a press release.
King said the 15 people were identified by police and from tips that came to the police from citizens.
King said the range of charges that will be filed against the individuals include riot, a felony; resisting arrest, failure to disperse, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, all misdemeanors; and arson, scattering rubbish, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, all summary offenses. King added additional arrests are anticipated in the coming weeks.
Police also posted 12 photos of people police say were involved in Saturday night's destruction, and King said they hope the public can help identify the people. The photos can be viewed at statecollegepa.us and anyone with information can call 234-7150 or submit an anonymous tip through the Web site, police said.
