In the wake of a downtown disturbance involving several thousand students, State College Police say 15 individuals have been singled out for arrest within the week.
As of Friday, 15 people have been identified "as participating in the riot in various ways," and those people will be formerly charged next week, State College Police Chief Tom King said in a press release.
King said the 15 people were identified by police and from tips that came to the police from citizens.
King said the range of charges that will be filed against the individuals include riot, a felony; resisting arrest, failure to disperse, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, all misdemeanors; and arson, scattering rubbish, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, all summary offenses. King added additional arrests are anticipated in the coming weeks.
Police also posted 12 photos of people police say were involved in Saturday night's destruction, and King said they hope the public can help identify the people. The photos can be viewed at
statecollegepa.us and anyone with information can call 234-7150 or submit an anonymous tip through the Web site, police said.
