OHIO STATE 49, WISCONSIN 48 (Final)

I was at the Penn State game last night, and the crowd really wasn't in it when we were down. Throughout the first half it was really quiet. But when the team started to come back early in the second half it was pretty loud at times in there. Personally, I was making a shitload of noise at that game, because when you go to a game you shouldn't just sit by and watch. Home field/court advantage is generated by the crowd. And by God, when I'm in the crowd I'm going to make some fucking noise.

Not comparing us to PSU..but I totally disagree, the crowd has been very loud at times this year, I just think the thing is when you have a big crowd of 19500, and the people in the front on the two sides arent your type of fans that stand for a whole game and get loud and crazy you are going to have times where the fans are not loud the whole time. The thing is we are filling the house this year and at times the whole place is on thier feet and getting loud. The thing is on Sunday the crowd will be jacked and up all game long...

Sure the crowd has been loud at times, but they should be loud ALL the time. Look at the horseshoe...I mean come on, it is deafening it's so loud. Now I know we're comparing 20,000 to 100,000, but the Schott is enclosed and should echo noise much better. The fact of the matter is two things:

1. Our team has been mediocre save a couple seasons for the past 10+ years. The fans got used to being silent because they were bored at the games.

2. I will repeat this again because it is an administration decision. The Ohio State administration will always favor making $$$ over providing an opportunity for a better home court advantage. Air dry that because it will always be true.

I'm sorry to the old timers, but you aren't loud enough. You earned your football tickets by cheering on the bucks year after year in the shoe. Now suddenly we build the Schott and all it's comfortable and luxurious, and we're fighting to get 2/3 capacity till a couple years ago. Now suddenly the team is good, but students are forced to buy split season tickets because of the high demand. When it comes to basketball, our students deserve the tickets, not the high-paying adults who have suddenly decided to show up because we're good now.

I know many of you had season tickets throughout the 80's and 90's and this is not directed at you in any way. You earned the right to have tickets whenever you want them.

Sorry for the rant but I'm passionate. Our home court atmosphere compared to the other elite basketball programs is pathetic. Sure all I hear this year is tv coverage. Well I've watched some games at other courts and it is much louder and much louder much more often during the game. I'm sure they arent cutting the tv feed volume everytime they cover our home games for some apparent reason.

Oh, and I agree the band is the way to go to fire up the crowd. Our cheerleaders are not.
Go Bucks and I hope it is loud as Ozzfest on Sunday! :gobucks3::gobucks4:

Was there as well. I noticed when the crowd got loud in the second half the team caught up and took the lead. After that everyone sat back down on their hands again. When the game got close the crowd got up again until they were comfortable with the lead and sat right back down. I know we are a football school and town but come on! GET LOUD! I expect a little more hype for Sunday.

I've never understood why OSU doesnt put all of the students together for basketball or football games. With the size of OSU, and the # of student tickets sold, we should be able to have a great homecourt advantage for basketball. (I know the Shoe is already rockin, but it would only help if we had one or two huge, student sections. As it is right now, most students arent really as into games as they would be if we were all put together.)

The $$$$$$$$$$$$ seats are the midcourt and 50 yd line seats...

Ohio State's priority: Get Oden more shots

COLUMBUS ? Even with 7-foot center Greg Oden averaging just nine field-goal attempts per game, the Ohio State men's basketball team is 25-3.
But the Buckeyes have won bigger when Oden shoots more often.

I'll be screaming from Phoenix. You guys'll have to do your part at the Schott. FWIW, the noise on t.v. hasn't been too bad at all from what I can tell. I've even heard the announcers say things like "Timeout (opponent). They'll be lucky to hear anything in that huddle." Could be posturing but if we compare it to years past when you can hear shoes squeaking on the court, I think we're making progress. Everyone loves a winner so we just need to keep winning. Us diehards are going to be here no matter what so prod the bandwagoners in the ass from time to time.

GO BUCKS!!!!

Sunday?s game between Ohio State and Wisconsin might be the last chance for ticket-holders to see Buckeye star freshman center Greg Oden play at Value City Arena.
If you haven?t managed to buy a ticket for Sunday?s Ohio State-Wisconsin game, you?re in trouble.
Like every other Big Ten home game, it?s been sold out since the beginning of the season. And according to local ticket brokers, if you?d still like to go, the match-up is the most expensive regularseason Ohio State basketball game in history.

Thats why you just put all of the students in the endzones or baselines then. I could see why for basketball they don't put more of the students together, but I still don't understand why there isnt just one or two big student sections in the Shoe.

There are too many students to put them all together, especially with the students all being in the South stands, and them not wanting the students to have the $$$$$$$ seats...

I have my ticket, I can't wait.

I don't know if this has been mentioned (I haven't read from the beginning of the thread) but they are trying to do a "Gray Out" for this game.

I'm not sure if it has legs yet or not, though.

Hopefully it works better than the Orange out the Cavs had last nite...

I still think they just need to stick to a gray or scarlet thing for every game. White was too much like Michigan st and isnt one of our main colors.
