Playing this game last year was bad enough, but two years in a row? Unreal.
You just now noticed we're playing YSU two years in a row? :roll1:

I'd bet a thou vbucks that they leave Beanie in for 200 yards. Just to jump start his Heisman campaign.
No way Tressel humiliates YSU like that. Just as he won't run up the score on them, he will not embarass YSU by leaving in Beanie just for stats sake, Heisman campaign or not...

Mili is spot on in saying Tressel won't run up the score on YSU. He doesn't like to run it up, period. Though he did against Northwestern last year. This makes us look not as good as we might to pollsters and fans.
"Look at that score! They only scored 20 against Akron(another Tressel school)! They are horrible on offense!" :smash:

Prank calls get ex-Tyger fired up for OSU

By JON SPENCER ? News Journal ? August 24, 2008

MANSFIELD ? The phone calls started a couple of weeks ago. Allowing for poetic license, they went something like this:

?Hey, Greg, this is James Laurinaitis. You?d better stay up there in Youngstown. We?re the big boys down here at Ohio State.?
Click.
?Greg, my man, this is Lawrence Wilson. I broke my leg last year against you guys, but it?s going to take a lot more than that to keep me from planting your quarterback like a tulip.?

Click.

?G-man, this is Marcus Freeman. Good thing Penguins can handle cold because we?re going to send a shiver down your spine.?

Click.

John Sazdanoff, a former member of the Ohio State football video crew, was just goofing on his younger sibling ? his 6-foot-3, 265-pound ?little? brother Greg, whose Youngstown State Penguins provide the opposition as Ohio State kicks off its 119th season Saturday at noon in Ohio Stadium.

Greg, a redshirt freshman out of Mansfield Senior, has been splitting time in camp with the starting and second units on the offensive line. He has played every position up front but center and left guard.

We have the talent to score even when we are trying to hold down the score . We could get 40 just running the ball ,possibly.
That is, of course, the wild card. OSU's second team depth is ridiculous this year. When JT pulls the starters he'll be putting in the Brew Crew, Bauserman, and 3rd and 4th string RBs who could be feature backs anywhere else. WRs? Are you kidding? The sixth and seventh options are who? Thomas and Posey?

OSU will try to keep it under 40 and fail.

No, he didn't.

Uh, yeah, he did. You must've missed where he had Boeckman throw a bomb from midfield on first down late in the first quarter when we were already up 28-0 (pass was a tad late and was picked off at the NW 2 yard line). He also kept Boeckman in the entire first except for the last drive, when we were already up 42-0 (Schoenhoft drove the team for a FG to mke it 45-0 at half). Also, after NW returned the second half KO for a TD, Tressel had the first team drive the ball down for a quick TD in response. It was only when we were up by 45 points did he let the backup QBs play.

Agree with this. After NW scored, the OSU starters went back out there.

When the announcers are making apologies or debating the "fairness" of playing your starters for even a series in the second half, then you are running up the score.
