Game Thread Ohio State 37, Penn State 17 (final)

Sorry if this was already posted. I skimmed through the past couple of pages.

ESPN - Forde: Ohio State doesn't fear the reaper - Columnist

Stat of the day: Against a team that had forced 60 punts this year, Ohio State never kicked it away once. Punter A.J. Trapasso might as well have stayed in Columbus.

Runner-up stat of the day: A Penn State team that came in leading the nation in sacks at 4.4 per game got one -- and it didn't record that one until the fourth quarter.

Third-place stat of the day: Opposing offenses were converting 32 percent of their third downs against Penn State. Ohio State converted 12 of 16 Saturday night.

Awesome game. Down 7-3, Ohio State said, "We're going to win. Now." And then they did.

Great game, the fans were actually very nice. I expected much worse. OSU fan was respectable as well, so we did represent well. Sat about 30 rows back, opposite corner of the white out and the same end of the stadium as all of the OSU fans (not with them, unfortunately). Good place to watch a game as well. Pretty cold, and Happy Valley is a nice town. There is just nothing out there! Middle of nowhere.

There was a radio show on the way out on 1450, and tPSU talk show hosts were funny. They were cracking on themselves, talking about how they dominated the punting game.

I liked the role our TE's were used and involved in this game. It seems that more and more every game they are thrown to and utilized. It just gives the defenses more to worry about.
something about having a couple 7 footers to toss to seems to add to the aresenal

Looks like the same AP story as is other links, but I like these two excerpts:

Maybe now the Buckeyes (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) will get the respect they're looking for.

''It doesn't matter,'' Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said.
''We have to prove whatever we are at the end of 2007, so we're nine games out 12 we're through. We've got a lot to prove beginning with game 10.''
It's all business and no one on the team is believing the what-little-there-is hype about them, contrary to last year. They are totally focused at the task at hand.

''It's eating at me right now,'' Nittany Lions cornerback Justin King said. ''Everybody feels like they could have done better.''
Maybe you should apologize for saying that you are a better corner than Malcolm Jenkins. Your sorry ass got owned several times last night. Karma, beyatch...

On a side note: Wrap up the Butkus Award for Dan Conner...18 tackles and an interception. I'd still take Laurinaitis over him on my team any day, but those stats in such a hyped game will win you the hardware.

Great game, Bucks.

Few things that stuck out in my mind:

1) Not a single punt.
2) Cordle's ability to snap with his left and still block very well.
3) Over 450 yards offense against a supposedly very good D.
4) Pretorius has a VERY strong leg.
5) The play diversification was great. Kept the pussy cats on their heels all night.
6) It was great to silence the stadium.
7) Felt bad for Washington. He was so excited to see the end zone that he tripped while trying to stay in bounds.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching the game.

So you're saying that Little Animal will have to come back for his senior year to claim the hardware?
