Then why is it the Big 12 is so highly regarded considering Oklahoma has [censored] the bed in bowl games like five years running?

Because ESPN doesn't talk about it... or if they do, it's a very brief sub-topic forgotten quickly when the real stories spring forth.

Not surprisingly, the OU fans have the opposite perception. They believe they get tons of media grief over their recent bowl outings.

I'm sure they do. I was referring more to the fact that the big twelve as a whole doesn't seem to get the disrespect on the level of the big ten, when both "top teams" are struggling in the big games. I fully understand why tOSU catches hell...we haven't been getting it done. But the rest of the big ten catches hell for our failures. The rest of the big 12 seems immune to that.

major key to the game: the team who scores more points will win this game...

To whom are you referring? If it's me, allow me to list the three Big Ten teams against whom we have an .800+ winning percentage (and not who's at the top):

Minnesota, 40-7-0 (.851)
Indiana, 65-12-5 (.823)
Northwestern, 58-14-1 (.801)

We're 33-2 in our last 35 games against Minnesota.

No, that was more of a "Mili's right, we have owned Minny. I'll have what he's having ..." Sorry about the confusion.

Hmmf...whether you "own" a team in the past or not doesn't really matter. It didn't matter in 2004 at Northwestern. I don't think overall record against a team has any affect on the outcome of this game. This Minnesota team is better than Minnesota has been in a couple years, obviously. They've found a way to win against cupcakes instead of lose to them. I think any Big 10 game is a tough game. Esepcially this year. I don't see a game left on our schedule that will be a cakewalk. And that is not a knock on Ohio State. It's the fact that the bottom feeders of the Big Ten are more middle of the pack this year than in the past. Could Michigan really be the worst team in the Big Ten?

I think this is Week 1 of one of the most exciting Big Ten season in recent years. Honestly, I don't think anybody can be certain what will happen, and there are a lot of teams that could win this thing. Hopefully we can start the Big Ten 1-0...and go from there. Right now this is the biggest game on our schedule. Here's to working for a trip to the Rose Bowl!

glen mason came in and beat a highly ranked osu team.

Their one and only win in the last 22 games against us, and that was against Cooper's last team (which ended up proving they weren't worthy of the ranking and end end getting Cooper fired).
