I agree. Unfortunately, I don't believe Beanie is going to be much of a factor due to his injury. I also suspect "open up the playbook" isn't in JT's plans, either.

We'll see soon enough...
The only way I will believe beanie isnt playing is if he comes out on the field at game time in his sweatpants and tennis shoes! If he dresses, I think he will play.

I don't know, I just don't see JT going back on his word given tonight.
To me there is just too little to be gained for JT to use this as a motivational tool. At best, Beanie plays effectively helps us win and this looks like a great move.

However, what if Beanie does further damage (which I am sure is the paramount concern)? What if Beanie plays and we still fall short? What if Beanie plays and is ineffective?

I just dont see anyway this is some psychological ploy. I dont perceive Coach to do something like that. I think it is more of "Beanie is out, Mo, Zoom & Boom; rest well tonight because we are winning with your legs tomorrow. Good night."

Beanie played, and played well, yet LSU won in convincing fashion. To me, it's more about our defense, with or without Beanie. If we play passively, as we did versus Florida and LSU, it'll probably look a lot like Florida and LSU. If we play aggressively, as we did against Miami, things could be different.

I think the loss of Dantonio has been huge. I know the overall defensive statistics, but we can play "soft" on defense and win most of our games on talent alone. Against the big boys, however, that hasn't worked in recent years. We must attack, and have faith in the talent on defense. Otherwise, we make it easier for the other team, and we've seen how that works (79 points allowed in 2 NC games).

Get after 'em, JT! Go Bucks! :osu:

Wow...so I just took 15 mintues looking crap up and trying to show that the D hasn't been that crappy against elite teams andit was deleted...crap not deleted, I mean the computer ate it before I could post it...anywaty

So I will say this: Florida had to only go an average of 33 yards per scoring drive which is absolutely insane, and that is crap.

Point I was trying make was that OSU needs to play well on D, but fans make too much of the D's performance without actually looking in the game and looking at stats. LSU only got 326 offensive yards and Florida only got 373 offensive yards.

The O has to put their share in and convert long drives for TDs, score more than 20 points in needed time, and convert key 3rd downs too.

But please...please don't blame Heacock for this stuff and not even try to think about it...it is so overdone and I am very very tired of reading this over and over because people don't think.

I'm fairly excited that although Sanchez isn't exactly Bernie Kosar when it comes to mobility, he's not what you would consider a "dual-threat" qb like we've seen already and will continue to see through the rest of the season. I think this could be a piece of "the difference" when it comes to our D's success against a talent-heavy Trojan offense. I know USC has a very good offensive line, but if our ends (especially LW) can get in the backfield and disrupt throughout the game, I think our chances of winning increase greatly. Rattling Sanchez (perhaps not likely, but possible) would be huge in this world class matchup.

Anyone else see this potential due to Sanchez's pocket passer style?

Yes. Most games are won in the trenches, and the trenches are especially important when the opposing team doesn't have what people would consider a running QB. He's more mobile than he gets credit for, but he's not going to be outrunning our LBs and DEs.

We need our dline to get some major pressure to force him to throw it away, make bad throws, and take sacks. I absolutely see this potential.

This right here is what can win us the ball game without beanie. If we play back and let Mcknight and Co. pick up 7 yards a snap we will lose and probably lose convincingly. However, if we get after them and trust our talent to make up for a possible breakdown we will win. We always say "Trust in Tressel" well this week it has to be "TRUST THE PLAYERS".

USC wants nothing more to totally destory us tomorrow night and they will if we let them. So hit them before they hit us is what I want to see. The first 2 series will tell me everything I need to know (especially when we're on offense)
