Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

my opinion is that your defense in 2007 wasn't the brick wall it was made out to be and losing three 1st rounders overall off the defense won't make it better by your second game of 2008.
my total speculation is that guys making out about somebodys last year defense behind some brick wall [could be mental] are not quite tuned in to this year, this defense, or this game. And i'm still mystified after all these years at the perennial parade of sincere folks who can tell who is worse than last year by who is gone and not playing in that defense this year...by the second game or so...regardless of minor things like who is playing, and who is the opponent.... Just imagine the horrifying offensiveness if i the moron [yes, it's me, Buck68...just as the Sound Off post said] told one of these Modest Mentats that he had to be worse this year because his team lost 3 guys i liked last year! Actually, i'm so totally frightened and outraged by jest recalling how much totally awfullestly we truly were on D in 2006 after loosing all those heros in 2005, and 2007 after 2006...it's just been TEWWIBLE! So, my so far betters, just RELOAD your opinions and fire away... :wink2: Meanspiritedlywhile...GO BUCKS :oh:

So is this where we pretend like you're not stirring the pot, methomps?

I can't think of a worse measuring stick to try and separate him from Beanie.

...I was thinking more along the lines of being the part where we all respect his passion for his own team and the various bias that rides along with that passion.
If he's just up for a straight debate, let's have at it. It read like he was looking to have a little fun with the lead-in. I think he can hold his own here. I'm not challenging the new guy.

I thought lendale was a great back, and felt he'd do better in the NFL than Reggie. I just think he's a notch below Beanie, which still leaves a lot of room for great talent.

I may be detecting the invisible tone completely wrong here, just a gut instinct.

I'm also grumpy because I thought that was the stiffarm where Huff still made the tackle (though Huff did later in that game). That would have made a much better rebuttal.

And Brady Quinn went 150 picks before Troy Smith. What does all of this have to do with Rey Maualuga going up against Lendale White in college? Lendale in 2005 was a monster; a 1,300-yd, 6.6ypc, 24 TD beast with power, footwork, vision, and deceptive speed.

As a JUNIOR CW made the monster look like a fuzzy stuffed toy with his 1,609, 15 TD performance. That against a conference that opts to play defense (usc the obvious exception to the pac10 rule). My bad east coast bias.

You gotta remember now, lendale did that with that non spreadable old pro set offense with alot of other options before lendale!

Good point, so your saying defense's weren't focusing on him. Thanks for the support. And your point is? We're talking junior vs senior, and we're talking playing against real run defenses vs pac10 defenses.
