I am glad that purdue is doing a blackout... that will allow the nation to see just how well buckeye nation travels. We will take over that stadium.:osu:

Our fans will be there, but by no means will it be of the skewed percentage that we enjoyed in places like Glendale, Bloomington, Evanston, etc.

I doubt we get in a much more past our ticket allotment.

from the weekly press luncheon:

REPORTER: You went through a stretch where you guys had problems winning on the road, maybe in these night games or whatever, but I believe you've now won 10 straight road games all the way back to the Penn State game in 2005. Maybe let's talk about -- maybe if you go into these situations knowing that the players understand the drill, you've won at Iowa, won at Texas, won at Washington, won the game this past week, is it kind of a quiet confidence knowing you can win in these situations now?
COACH TRESSEL: I remember a night game in January we didn't do real great.
REPORTER: That wasn't a road game.
COACH TRESSEL: Just a faint memory.
nice to see he can look at 1/8 with a sense of humor.

and then just monents later:

REPORTER: What's more annoying --
COACH TRESSEL: What's more annoying? Not letting a guest ask a question.
REPORTER: I'm not a guest, nobody ever lets --
COACH TRESSEL: Okay, we can't use up our time.

Technically, it was a "neutral site". "Road game" implies playing at the opponent's site...

Yeah neutral site, like a Rose Bowl vs USC or UCLA. A Sugar Bowl vs LSU, an Orange Bowl vs Miami or one of the Citrus/Outback Bowls vs any SEC team.

Don't get me started on the need for a major Bowl to be played up North. I would love to be able to play an SEC/Pac 10 team for a NC in Cleveland, in the snow with the wind chill about 20 below...and sit there with a straight face and say it was a neutral site.

IIRC other than Miami's 2001 NC in the Rose Bowl and USC's recent win in the Orange Bowl, every other NC that those two schools claim have been won in a game played on its home field (or close proximity as far as USC goes).

All this talk of Tressel in the Presser makes me look forward to one of the better things on BTN, the wrap-up of the Press Conferences - Coaches Q&A.
Typically can catch that early Thursday Evening or at 7PM-EST on Wednesday. Wish they had the Buckeye Replay at a more convenient time (DVR only for me).

Here meanwhile is the view from Ed Grimley wannabe
picture.php

Josh Michaels at the Purdue Student newspaper "The Exponent"
Sum and substance - he wants a win over Ohio State so that he cleanse his mind of an awful thing that happened to Purdue when they faced a high ranked Wisonsin team on October 16th, 2004.
In order to be taken seriously enough to show you deserve a BCS berth, you have to destroy anyone and anything in your way. If that's No. 4 Ohio State or unranked PO-dunk University, then so be it.
Don't come out running the ball when you have a 14-point lead, otherwise things can and will go wrong. Attacking the tired and weak defense is the only way to ensure a win.
Being conservative ends poorly most times and that's what happened against Wisconsin. You get pushed into a situation where you have to be aggressive, but by then, the momentum is gone.
So please Purdue, don't allow another Black Saturday to happen. Come out on Saturday with one thing on your mind ... first to 100, wins.
Don't they teach student journalist's NOT to indulge convoluted logic these days. It makes you sound so -- weak. Oh, wait Mandel - SI.com, never-mind.

Miami's 1989 NC was capped off win a win over 'Bama in the Sugar Bowl (New Orleans presumably was a pro-Bama crowd).
