Game Thread Ohio State 20, Wisconsin 17 (Oct. 4)

I'm just steaming over the fact that he's been taking the big loss instead of getting rid of the ball. I can understand when he doesn't want to risk a fumble, but when he gets out of the box and has all day to throw it away, he should fire it into the stands.

Honestly, judging the way Boeckman has handled pressure since the PSU game last year, I can only imagine the blitz packages would be used more frequently, and perhaps with worse results for us. . . .

Yea, he'll stand back there looking at the pressure not the WR's. Then he'll tuck the ball and his body when the defender is still 5 yards away.. I like Boeckman, but I don't wanna see it.

A few quick thoughts....

If Boeckman had played that way in the first half, we'd have about 1,000 "Boeckman sucks!" posts in this thread right now. Gotta keep reminding ourselves that Pryor is still learning....

How can a team look so good on their first drive and then look so mediocre thereafter?

It is hard to believe how badly this DL is getting pushed around. The LB's are trying hard and are playing well in space, but there is just too much traffic inside for them to be effective between the tackles. DT's really need to step it up ... and soon.

Time to scrap the Saine-as-WR experiment ... and the Lawrence Wilson as DB experiment. Why drop your best pass rusher into a zone on a blitz?

Do we really need to see a different formation on every offensive play? Hard to get any continuity when you're I-formation on first down and five-wide on second down...

If this were the NFL, Wisky #12's bank account would be about 50k lighter right now ... two helmet-to-helmet cheap shots in the first half....

Nonsense... it's only a blitz if it results in a sack. You should know that.

It's so frustrating seeing people calling for blitzig when OSU is doing it but can't get there. I think some people don't actually pay attention unless OSU gets a sack or something. It's like some people are in denial that this D just has trouble getting consistant pressure on the QB. It's been like this for 2 seasons unfortunately and I was hoping it would get better but it hasn't.

I just hope this team doesn't quite. This game is not nearly as bad as some are making it. They need to come out and play hard and they will get their plays.

In Dane's defense, he got rocked. I wouldn't expect anybody to hold on to the ball there when you get knocked out.

Well when you weigh 175 pounds you down go head first into 3 defensive players who are known for their hitting abilities. Totally his fault, but I hope he's ok. Doesn't matter though you have to hang onto the ball and if not? Then get down.
