How true is this thread? My travels have kept me away from Ohio Stadium for way too long so I haven't seen it since late 90s on gameday.

In 2002 it was still a fight for your life to get back to the car.

Up to as recently as 2018, wine and cheese.

This year, after the shit they pulled in '21? Best of luck to you.

Some of the comments mentioned old blue hairs yelling at people to sit down and stop yelling. Is that real?
You bet your ass it's true. I don't know where or when this bullshit about standing through the entire game came about. It wasn't done when I was there during the sixties as a student. You rose to your feet when it was appropriate, The ramp entry, the National Anthem, Script Ohio, Carmen Ohio, kickoffs, a big play, an important third down or a critical set of downs late in the half or the end of the game. Most of the time you sat.

It wasn't until the nineties that I recall standing becoming a problem. I'm about to turn 80. I still yell as loud as I can at games. I stand up for the ramp, the anthem, Carmen Ohio, Script Ohio, kickoffs, big plays, key third downs... but my back and legs don't take kindly to four hours of standing.

My best guess is that the standing idea get's it's start from the "Twelfth Man" nonsense at aTm. No thanks, that's one tradition I would not like to see copied at Ohio State.

Sounds about right, but Ohio Stadium sounds like a kindergarten during nap time at times which is asinine for such a major program with a rabid fanbase.
