...And it's based in part on how crowded the state is and how clean the air is? I was thinking to myself this morning how much better my life would be if it weren't for this fucking air.

I can see why people in Louisiana are so happy though - they get to spend most of their time drinking beer and blasting TVs with shotguns. M*ch*g*n at #48 though? Once again, way overrated in the polls. I'd say they belong at about #50.1.

So does clean air and no neighbors. Just ask this guy:

included objective measures, such as how crowded that state is, air quality, home prices and other factors known to impact quality of life.

Evidently they didn't much checking in Hawaii for them to rate us out here at #2. Traffic is as bad as nearly all metropolitans and housing prices are higher overall than virtually every other area. And while the air quality is excellent to outstanding 90-95% of the time thanks to the tradewinds, there are days where the "vog" from Kīlauea degrade the air quality considerably. Throw in some of the highest costs of living in the entire country and you have a lot of measureables that should seriously impact the overall rating.

That being said, before I even clicked the link I expected Hawaii to be at #1 simply because of the weather and beaches.
