2026 OH OL Will Conroy (Oklahoma Verbal)

He’s been looking for any reason to not go to OSU after they didn’t push for him in the spring. He wanted to go to Oregon but they didn’t want him either. Not sure why so much fuss about this guy.
This is what Birm has been saying. Problem is, and even he admits it, the optics look terrible to fans. Even if he's the weakest OL in OH, the fact that OSU loses another OL won't sit well. It didn't help Conroy that he was the only OH OL in '26 to not even attend any camps either.
Funny thing is, most of the insiders on LR and Rivals have said that OSU could still land him. But I'm not sure most would feel confident with Frye anyway

To be clear, I'm not making a fuss. Going to Norman just makes no sense to me.
No offense, but I would never try to make sense of any recruit's decision on the school they choose. We are looking at these scenarios as fans and not a teenager, and also not as a parent of the recruit. So we'll never ever understand the decisions. Just my $.02

I don't know what Conroy's expectations are, but you have to balance classes with developmental guys that have high upside. Someone needs to be able to come in, understand they are likely sitting 2 or 3 years, and be okay with that. Guys you don't have to drop high NIL on and have to re-recruit every single year. I get that is a dying outlook and one I have no idea what his were, but he would have been a great candidate for that role as he does have traits you could build on.

I don’t disagree with you.

But if a recruit has hurt feelings because he isn’t feeling the “love” he feels he should receive because a program may have guys higher, you can’t do much about that. You should continue to recruit until he signs or tells you not to, but you can’t let a recruits emotions dictate your process.

I don't see this as a huge loss although I would have liked to have got him. Not sour grapes but I like the Miami Trace kid (name escapes me) better. We just better not miss on any of the other Ohio guys though. Plus it's early, you never know if he changes his mind if we keep pursuing however unlikely that is.

In any event, good luck kid.

BN, is that Woodie or Arlo? Anyway, given my 'plots within plots' mind, mayhaps he's using a commit to a higher level school as leverage to see what else is out there. Kinda like car shopping but in reverse. Who's gonna give me the most?
