2024 OH OL Marc Nave (Kentucky Verbal)

Birm says he didn’t develop like the coaches wanted him to this season, with his weight/conditioning being a major concern that resulted in them choosing to go in a different direction.
Every analyst has been saying that since he camped.at OSU this summer. Absolutely no one had anything positive to say. They just hoped he'd grow, and work towards getting in better shape. Not a big loss. Just a surprise.

I was in the same boat, I didn't want to be negative about a commit but I never thought Nave was close to OSU caliber and that had nothing to do with ranking. Now we need two OL to finish out though.

Birm also says it’s Seaton or bust in the ‘24 OL class and the coaching staff is expecting all OL outside of Jones to be back next season, which means they’ll likely only add one more, either Seaton or through the portal.

It wasn't a hot night in Toledo but it was humid and though Nave has worked hard to get into better shape, he still appeared to be laboring a bit at times and his conditioning is something he'll need to keep working on. Beyond that, Nave will need to get more consistent when it comes to finishing plays. There were multiple times when his running back or quarterback, whichever guy was carrying the ball, was fighting for yards with Nave standing around nearby rather than trying to get to the next block. At the risk of sounding hypercritical, that is something that just won't work at the college level. Bottom line on Nave? There is a lot of work to be done in order to be a contributor at Ohio State, but he has the frame and athleticism to be an impactful Big Ten offensive lineman.
This is from Rivals' OSU board. So even with Nave playing OT, a spot where he should be showcasing his (requested from coaches)weight loss and athleticism. He hasn't been flourishing to say the least. And I'm sure Cutler more than likely returning decreases the need for a reach at IOL
