I'm Catholic and more than anything, I think it's just that Notre Dame has a lot of prestige in the Catholic community. I and many other Catholics can't stand ND, but it still has more weight in the Catholic community than outside of it.

Jimmy says he enjoyed the trip but ND is still his leader. He will visit ND for bowl practice and possibly make another trip to Columbus before deciding.

From what I've been told Notre Dame received a verbal pledge from 2014 OL Jimmy Byrne out of Cleveland (OH) St. Ignatius today.
