OH OL Jimmy Byrne (Notre Dame Signee)

Jimmy Byrne to make unofficial to ND
September, 8, 2012
By Brad Bournival | ESPN.com

Jimmy Byrne (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) sees it as a way to knock two things out at once.

With Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State as his three choices, the high-profile offensive tackle in the class of 2014 has a rare Saturday off on Sept. 22 and will make the most of it.

He?ll be taking an unofficial visit to Notre Dame to watch the Fighting Irish take on Michigan in a primetime game in South Bend, Ind.

Scout $ - Byrne Down To Final Two?

10/10

By The Bank...recaps his visit to ND for the win over Michigan...says things are tight between ND and OSU but the visit really helped ND's case and can't imagine the OSU atmosphere could match it...not ruling out anyone but says Ohio State and Notre Dame have started to separate themselves from everyone else.

He seems pretty sold on the Irish in his latest interview. Very unfortunate because there is a real shot for early playing time for OL in the next 2 recruiting classes, especially a potentially elite OL like Byrne.

Guess the Byrne family was too busy Saturday night to watch the Nebraska game...

Guess everyone is missing the '14 in the thread title...relax. ND is hot right now. Let the kid visit for The Game and give the staff time to work.
This...

There's no need to panic. Especially you, Mili... :P

After a ND visit, ND is just EQUAL with the Buckeyes. Let him visit for The Game and he'll know what LOUD means.

He's not visiting for The Game, is he?

Iggy plays most of their games on Saturday, so I doubt he could. Probably won't have a chance to compare gameday atmospheres before he makes his decision.

No panic here. I was simply implying it wouldn't be hard to imagine how well The Shoe would compare to Notre Dame, even just by watching on TV. No doubt he'll get the message in spades on Nov 24th.

11/23-24 is the weekend of the state semi-finals. Last year both (Division I) semi-final games were held Saturday at 7pm (one in Dayton, one in Mansfield). It is likely that if St. I makes the state semis (by probably beating St. Ed, Mentor, and/or Fitch) , he won't be available to go to The Game

ESPN - Loss brings unofficial OSU visit for Byrne

11/18

One team?s loss is another?s gain.

When Cleveland St. Ignatius lost a Division I, Region 1 final in triple overtime to Mentor on Saturday, Ohio State might have reaped the benefits. The Cardinals eschewed an extra point in favor of a two-point conversion and knocked out the defending state champion Wildcats in a 57-56 thriller.

Watch List offensive tackle Jimmy Byrne took the defeat hard, but now will be able to make an unofficial visit to Ohio State on Saturday to see The Game against Michigan.
