Not a more learned opinion by any means, but I've wondered the same thing. What is the difference between two 6'6 300 lb OL where one excels but the other is only average? It's been said and repeated that the hardest position to guage for the future is the OL players. Guess it's easy to take a 5* that all that needs to be done is polish the fenders, rather than rebuild from ground up. Thing I notice is that most (if not all) have the requisite size (both height and weight), and am certain that coaches watch tons of film to see how the feet move, push out from stance, pass pro, etc. We watch and see schools like Wisconsin, Iowa, and ? take these 3* kids and develop them into beasts, and first round NFL choices. How come tOSU doesn't/can't do the same? Looking at the OL room, see many players that are good, but not great (at least not yet). Really don't have an opinion on this (well, I really do, but...) would like to hear more learned opinions of why this is. One thing I do notice is that the OL guys of today have sculpted their bodies far better than yesteryear, when bellies flopped over. Today's OL guys wear their 280-320 lbs much better.
