BN$--Tucky Gets Back To Ohio State

Ethan followed up his impressive tOSU camp performance with a return visit yesterday. He connected well with the coaches and feels he could get an offer early this fall after tOSU sees a few games at OLB. He currently holds offers from Boston College, Eastern Michigan and Toledo

With the comments from Ethan above, this staff never seems set on an exact number for a position group, but getting the "right" guys in the program. It'd be interesting to see if he gets an offer, depending on the events with Ferns and Hansford

2016 THREE-STAR PROSPECT ETHAN TUCKY TAKING HIS TIME WITH RECRUITING PROCESS, HOPING FOR OHIO STATE OFFER

As Ethan Tucky crossed the finish line, he paused for a minute and started breathing heavily, put both hands on his knees, grabbed a cup of water, then laid flat on his back near the edge of the track.

He knows guys his size simply aren’t supposed to run that fast.

“I’m confusing myself,” Tucky said laughing, while trying to catch his breath. “I set up in the blocks sometimes and look around and have a little different body type than the rest of these guys.”

Tucky stands 6-foot-2 and, according to him, weighs 225 pounds. He’s a three-star prospect on the football field from Delaware, Ohio — roughly 30 minutes north of Columbus — where he’s being recruited as a defensive end/linebacker hybrid. But in track, he runs sprints.

As talented as he is, unless he proves at a camp that he's a LB and not a tweener or DE, he could be on the outside looking in.
Being big and fast is great, but an outstanding athlete does not a great football player make.

If he camps and earns an offer Darron Lee style than fantastic- I love to see that happen.

If he doesn't I know some Ohio State fans will be up in arms about it and that will annoy me.

Agreed. But prepare to be annoyed...

Good for BC.

Tucky has good top-end speed, but lacks an explosive first step. I can understand why he wasn't offered. The last LB in this class is going to be a SLB type, and Hansford is a much better fit for that role.

Best of luck to Tucky moving forward. Hopefully he can turn into another Ohio-raised impact player for BC.
