I'm glad Birm put that out, because posters are freaking out on Rivals, and have put in their mind that this offer signals the end of OSU getting Scott(though it couldn't be further from the truth). OSU is probably set to get 4 CBs in '24:
West
Scott
Lockhart
??? maybe Nichols
Me too. Not gonna lie, it crossed my mind even though I've been pretty optimistic about Scott. I never thought Lester would end up here, but I was feeling good about Brown for a while. Either way, West, Scott, Lockhart, and Nichols would be a very good class.

I always thought Brown was a pipedream based on 2 main things:
1. His location- CA is so freaking far, and I'm sure there are many family and friends wanting to keep him closer to home
2. His school- its been a feeder school for USC for decades, and Riley has no problem utilizing the collective's wallet(regardless of how bad a job Grinch does)

I'd love to see those four guys in. And Rivals is an unmitigated disaster. Aside from the insiders there are very few posters that I don't abhor.

Both valid concerns. But I have heard good things about them chances with Brandon Baker and I thought that coupled with the short turnaround trips he's made this spring were very positive signs.

Or maybe he was very interested and the quick trips made him rethink how far it is? Who knows. I'm not sweating it, the CB class will be a good one.

I can see his rankings rise the more he balls out at camps this summer. He has 2 OVs left to set, and I can easily see OSU getting one of them(others being Ped St, Pitt and scUM). He would give OSU and inside/outside CB in this class, with 2 being primarily outside(West and Scott) and the other being primarily slot(Lockhart)

The whisper on Nichols was that Michigan had the slightest edge for the high three-star cornerback from Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow but now that Ohio State is his newest offer, the Buckeyes should definitely be watched. And don’t count out Penn State just yet, either, since it was the first school listed recently by him along with Cincinnati, Wisconsin and Rutgers.

Birm thinks Michigan or Kentucky are the favorites. A Michigan push here would seemingly have positive implications in the direction of the Scott recruitment for Ohio State, but it could be unrelated depending on how many CBs Michigan is targeting.

Edit: UM currently has zero CBs committed in the class, so I’m sure they’d be fine taking two if they could. I’m still going to choose to take the timing (assuming it’s a Michigan push) as a positive sign for Ohio State in the Scott recruitment.
