The Saturday before Thanksgiving is the Highest of Holy Days. They can have the others, if absolutely necessary. This one is mine and ours, not theirs. It is not my fault if they do not understand. It is not our obligation to enlighten them as to the path of righteousness. They may be free to wallow in their ignorance, but they are not privileged to drag us back into their morass of superficiality. Not in this of all weeks.
United States law defines religious belief as a "sincerely held belief". It is my sincerely held belief that God is a Buckeye and that there is no more sanctified place on earth than Ohio Stadium on this day in alternate years. In years such as our current season, we are honor bound to descend into the vile depths of that whore Ann Arbor in the name of all that is Good and Holy to face the blue corn rodents. Once a year we transcend our meager earthly existence to exalt in the spirit of the Scarlet and Gray secure in the knowledge that the ghost of Woody is with us.
One week each year we enjoy the advent of this event. This is Michigan week and those who would schedule activities other than those honoring the profound importance of the next seven days are to be admonished or ignored. Let not the infidel cause us to dwell amongst them. My brothers and sisters, free yourselves from this ignominy assured that your reward is close at hand.
November 19th is coming. Gather together in recognition of this sacred happening and be in body and spirit One. Chafe at the imposition of earthly demands. Weddings, funerals and baptisms (other than those provided by the proprietorship of S&G News for the unheard of low price of $49.95) are insignificant this week. Allow them to return to your consciousness on November 20th. Until then, let not societal demands sway you from our Calling. Go Bucks, thy victory is assured.
