Official Statistical Analysis Thread

There's real competition for the JB Shugartts award this year
3: Price
2: Prince, Baugh (in a 3-play span).
1: Samuel, Jordan (in his first collegiate quarter; no flags on him since)

Holding:
2: Jamarco
1: Price, Taylor, KJ Hill

I feel like we struggle after change of possession or a short break. One of the delays of game vs OU was right after a kickoff, and Baugh's false start was preceded by Rutgers LB being carted off.

Maybe I'm imagining things.

Two things stand out to me: There's no excuse for Price seeing as he's a redshirt junior (and from Fitch). Also, there should almost never be a false start at home since the line doesn't have to deal with crowd noise...

JT Barrett needs 32 touchdown passes to be the Big Tens all-time leader...

If he averaged 4 TD passes a game from here on out, he could break the record against Michigan.

the way the offense is running, that may just happen...

(tommy armstrong has 62 career at this point..so they may have to battle for it...)

and he still has a yr. of eligibility and certainly not a lock to leave early. waltercampfootball has him projected in 5th-7thrd

Making big strides in getting fewer penalties and penalty yards per game. However, our punt return game is one of the worst in the B1G and in the country, statistically speaking... which should NEVER happen for a Urban Meyer coached team.

Also, TSUN leads the country in a ridiculous amount of defensive catagories this year, though they don't lead the B1G in any single offensive catagory.

Shouts out to our three OOC frenemies, who took care of business on the road:
BG over Kent St. (PSU win)
Tulsa over UCF (M win)
OU over WVA (essentially knocking the Big XII out of the playoff race -- or at least to the point of irrelevance to OSU)

Ohio State's national offensive stats took a pretty big hit, other than rushing O and conversion percentage. We jumped big in the fewest penalties per game category, going from 91st to 78th. Shows that this team is gaining in experience and making fewer mistakes than they were at the beginning of the season. Will be going up against a defense this week that leads the country in Total D, Passing D, Scoring D, 3rd Down Conversion D, and 1st Down D. God willing, we can knock them off of a number of those perches.

Defensive stats are roughly the same, though LJ Scott going off on us affected our Run D's national rank negatively. Ohio State has a big lead nationally in Team Passing Efficiency D over the 2nd place team. Matching-up against O'Korn, That Team ought to have a tough time passing on our defensive backfield
