Official Grand Theft Auto IV Thread

I usually rent almost every game I play, save NCAA. What kind of replay value is this game expected to have beyond the first 6 weeks? Is there compelling online play?

This is the first time there will be multi-player/online play in the game. So depending on how those modes work will be your answer.

Also I recall them saying that XBOX360 players will have exclusive downloadable expansion packs for the game. But not sure if that has changed since I heard that 6 months ago.

Don't worry though Jwin... I will give a full report once I pull myself away from the game.

I heard that the actual story mode/game play is over 100 hours long.

I'm skeptical as to if that will be true. Zelda on the Wii took me 55 hours, and that seemed like forever.

I don't think its 100 hrs more like around 50...

I'd betcha that if you do every mission, collect every single little piece of crap they hide in the most remote locations, it'll add up to 80-100 hours. Just the missions would probably only total 40-50 hours, provided you fail a few here and there.

Well supposedly there is an achievement that you have to finish the storyline in under 30 hours so I'm guessing it's around 50-60 hours total for EVERYTHING

ON A SIDE NOTE: I WILL POST SOME MORE GAMEPLAY VIDS THAT I AM GETTING FROM ANOTHER SOURCE AS THEY COME AVAILABLE

:smash::smash::smash: I really hate my work blocking these links and vids. Damn government keeping the man down.

But I am all ready for this next week. I decided I needed to take a day off from work so I can fully enjoy this game. To make this legitimate (ie so the wife doesn't realize I am taking a day off from work soley to play video games) I have the Heater/AC guy coming to tune up the A/C (part of service contract), I have a plumber coming to fix the outdoor spicket (turned it on and it started pouring into our basement) and more importantly I have the Cable guy coming to swap out my old cable box for an upgraded DVR .

Wish I could have taken the 29th off but the 30th was the only day the plumber could come out so that is when all the other guys are coming.

So the 30th is now clear for me to become the criminal I really am and see how far in the game I can get.
