Anyone who enjoys history and great soccer - turn on your TV now. This ESPN 30 for 30 featuring the early 90's Columbian team is simply awesome.

I had no idea how good this team was - they were showing highlights and I've already seen 3-5 plays I've never seen before. Amazing stuff.
They looked like the Harlem Globetrotters of futbol during their run from 91-94. That heel-kick save the goalkeeper made when he could have just caught the ball flat footed was awesome.

WTF is a cap?
An appearance for your national team in an International match.

Players may or may not receive an actual, physical cap (a hat) to commemorate the event, but the term cap remains from the centuries old tradition.

What if they got ice cream sundae caps like in baseball? I bet that's what they do - everyone likes ice cream.

You soccer fags have been holding out on me my whole life. Instead of busting ass at two-a-days in 70% georgia humidity playing football, I should have been wearing tight shorts, kicking a ball around for an hour and then enjoying a delicious ice cream treat! :bicker: :pissed:

You know, that's funny because I played both football and futbol growing up, and when I walked or rode my bike to football two-a-days and busted my ass for four hours I didn't get shit, but since our municipal soccer complex was clear across town my mom had to drive me to that, so on the way home she'd always stop at Dairy Queen and buy me an Oreo Blizzard.

And don't think you don't bust ass playing soccer ...

I have some vacation time to burn by June 30th and I'm cashing some in tomorrow. I'm actually looking forward to the matches to see how it plays out.

Well worth it. What an exciting finish, just when it looked like our WC was over. :)

I'm watching this right now. From when I was younger I vaguely remember someone getting killed from over a soccer game and it's rather interesting to find out what happened now. 30 for 30 is easily one of the best series of shows ESPN has put together.

Edit: I saw commercials of this show before watching the USA game today. This show made me feel even more proud to live in the country we do. If our team would have lost today what would have happened to them? They would have returned home and most of our country wouldn't care about soccer again until the next world cup. These guys from Columbia were under so much pressure to perform it is unreal. Who cares about winning a game when your family or your own life may be in danger for how you played. I had mixed emotions about Pablo Escobar after the show.
