Official Cleveland Browns Draft Thread

Not to be mean, but Jerry Jones just pimped you. He actually made you guys believe he was going to pick Brady Quinn and the browns bit in. If Brady sucks and Romeo loses his job Charile better give Romeo a job at ND.

I disagree. I don't think anybody thought Jones would pick Quinn. Teams were worried about the Chiefs. But yeah, this was a steep price.

Smart moves by the Browns when it come to payday.

Regardless of where he was drafted Thomas still makes an OLs salary. Quinn on the other hand lost all his bargaining chips when 20 other teams passed on him.

In any case, if I made up my short list of players I don't like it would be chock full of Brown's draft choices from the past few years.

Joe Thomas was just diagnosed with a staph infection from the deck of his family's boat on Lake Superior.

Sorry, but this one is easily debunked. They can't diagnose a staph infection if they can't find the boat.

Disagree totally, everyone knew there was barely more than a slim chance Dallas would draft him.
They were worried about other teams trading up (ESPN mentioned Baltimore was interested also).
I have no problem with giving up next years #1 as I think this team might win enough games this year to make it worthwhile.
Either way, Quinn and Thomas makes for a nice draft

I hope the fact that Quinn had to wait a while will help him. I hope he uses this as motivation to succeed that's what I would do. I don't mind the trade but I would have rather given up next years 1st and braylon and kept my 2nd round choice. Either that or give up this years 2nd and braylon but keep next years 1st. Oh well doesn't matter what is done is done. Now that Quinn is a brown let me say welcome to the family Mr. Quinn. I will never root for Notre Dame but I will root for you now.

By the way, Who's your team Mgoblue29?

Okay, talk to me when you suck next year and don't have a top pick to fall back on.

Why? Fifteen years from now, if Quinn ends up being a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback, no one will care about his first year. The problem most Browns fans had with drafting Quinn wasn't that we didn't think he'd be good, we just needed help elswhere more. Getting both Thomas and Quinn could end up being a great draft. Or it could bite us in the ass. Who knows?

One thing's for sure, this is a draft that I won't be able judge for at least five years.

I had to laugh the so called experts were saying very bad things about Dallas like "Dallas would be nuts" if they didn't draft BQ and they turn around and trade down.
Great spot for Ted Gin to get.
The experts are blowing this one. They just said "the lower BQ gets picked the better team he would go to and look who gets him haha :tongue2:

I have to think that the Browns were in competition with other teams to trade up.
I kind of doubt that any other team was talking about giving up as much as the Browns to make the trade.
If the Browns got that impression then it was a great bluff by Jones and the Cowboys.

I wasn't talking to you stroths, I was talking to Napoleon. I hear where your coming from, but Brady is not the guy to bring you guys out of the dark age. 20 other teams passed on him so what does that tell you. Good Luck, but don't complain if he is a bust.

I should have known. I got a Charlie Frye jersey for Christmas. Other jerseys I've gotten for Christmas... Tim Couch, William Green. I never even got to wear the Green jersey either. Classic.
Don't put that Frye jersey on ice...
