Official BCS-CG Bulletin Board Thread

INTELLIGENCE: THERE REALLY IS NO SUBSTITUTE

I loved reading this article (found it in another thread posted on BP) and thought this thread could use a little something today.

Lancaster Eagle-Gazette - www.lancastereaglegazette.com - Lancaster, OH

I particularly enjoyed a small reply after the article explaining how the writer misspelled a word....but it really wasn't. I guess brainpower is still overrated. whiny or whiney? bwhahahaha:biggrin:

The writer isn't afraid of showing he's a homer, god love em!

LSU fans really had to search for an article from Lancaster's newspaper to find bulletin board material?!??

We don't even look for it. It's all over the place.

No kidding, the Eagle-Gazette is nowhere near the most reputable paper to find your stories. I can picture it now.....

Miles walks into the locker and tapes the article on the board."see gentlemen this is what the world thinks of you. Matt you whine too much, and the rest us well we are losers. Why are we even showing up to play this game? This paper in LAN-caster Ohio sums it up for us..." a player interupts"where's that?" "Well it's in Ohio, and by the looks of it I'm as good as Coach Carr, I'm improving in the national media day-by-day."

Eagle-Gazette--The Buckeye Preview section of their 8/30/2007 issue on page 11. (Can't believe I haven't thrown it away yet.) Under the heading Don't Mess With Tressel they list his post-season games. For 2001, they have the Buckeyes winning the Outback Bowl!
"2001: 7-5 (Outback Bowl winner)" :!

If it's going to be right on some simple facts and flat out wrong with others why even bother. Nice articles on Todd Boeckmen and Jim Cordle, though.

On Miles, yep I'm positive he would call it LANcASter. If he can't get Arkansas right, he's hopeless for learning Lancuhster's pronunciation.

On a totally different topic, Espn Gamenight's Freddy Coleman's prediction...
[paraphrasing] Both have outstanding defenses, both have great RB's, average QB's. They'll try to get Beanie Wells going with the running attack, but a healthy Dorsey will prove too much. LSU 27, OSU 16.

This isn't something that was posted by a single reporter or publication, but rather an entire nation, on the network with the most extensive college football coverage...

Constantly scrolling along espn's bottom line:
LSU (78%) over OSU (22%)
Confidence: 18 of 32

I have to believe this is being hammered home to our players. 78% of the people in this country are expecting them to fail.

On a side note, I don't recall if this type of national poll was taken in 2002 before the Miami game. If anyone knows more than I do about that, I would be curious to see how the 2002 polls compared to this year's. My guess would be that national belief was even more lopsided in favor of our opponent in 2002.

Either way, this team thrives on disrespect, so the rest of the nation can keep it coming for all I'm concerned.

Hey guys, what's tOSU's record vs. the SEC in bowl games? No one seems to be saying anything about it.

That is a good point. And the long ignored speed issue...what about that?
Excellent points. I wish they'd talk about the speed issue more. If there's one thing I know that truly matters in a game of football, it's how fast you run 40 yards in a straight line without pads on.

I think OSU's record against the SEC in bowl games is something like 0 and 2,733. But, that's just a guess.

Bob Stoops and OK have lost their last three BCS Bowl Games.
Pete Carroll is the personification of the Second Advent, because he's 5-1 in BCS Bowl Games.

Just sayin'.

Pete won't be 5-1 unless he downs the Illini next week. :wink2:
