Official BCS-CG Bulletin Board Thread

ESPN - In the Year of the Upset, memorable moments were plentiful - College Football

Dinich: The chaos. C'mon, let's hear it. Georgia got hosed. But LSU has two losses! Why is Illinois in the Rose Bowl? The best team is not playing in the national championship. Who is the best team? They all lost! This is why a playoff should never exist. For the next month, argue over the matchups. Argue over the BCS. Argue over Christmas dinner. It's as entertaining as the games themselves. Which you'll watch no matter who is playing. And when LSU beats Ohio State for the national championship, and that sense of finality sets in, you'll already be longing for the chaos of next season. Because this year, your team got hosed.

Low: A quick glance at the NFL rosters suggests it, and many of the NFL scouts come right out and say it: The best football in the country is played in the SEC. Come Jan. 7, the SEC gets another chance to prove it on the field. LSU can become the third SEC team in the past five years to walk away with the national championship. It could easily be the fourth team in five years had Auburn not been shafted in 2004. Florida won last season and LSU in 2003. What makes this run for the title all the more intriguing is that the Tigers twice lost this season while holding down the No. 1 spot in the polls. Though it hasn't played like the best team in the country over the last month, LSU is easily the most talented team in the country. The BCS system isn't set up to give third chances, but the Tigers won't need another opportunity after they beat Ohio State in New Orleans.

I forgot to ask if you had a link for that.

Sorry, I don't.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but I don't think so. here is a link to Tellshows site and his idea for a playoff format.

He has Hawaii as a #6 seed playing OSU at the Shoe on December 15th...........and winning. :shake:

I don't usually pay atention to the people ripping us but what the fuck. Has any team in the history of CFB ever had this kind of lack of respect after one fucking loss? This is just flat getting out of hand.

BTW final regular season results OOC games vs BCS schools:
Pac 10: 5-3
Big 10: 5-4
SEC: 7-7
ACC: 9-10
B12: 5-6
BE: 7-8

My e-mail to Mr. Tellshow:

Dear Sir,

I noticed you have a paypal link requesting donations for keeping your site up and running. I have no doubt that your site is time consuming. My webmaster bills an hourly rate and his bills are quite large when the site needs updating or design elements.

I usually do not bill web sites for my time as the time I spend there is generally leisure time. I must however bill you as there was no disclaimer on the site regarding the absolute stupidity of your opinions. You have a jar asking people to donate to you for keeping "an accurate" site.

Your assertion that Hawaii would go into Ohio Stadium on January and win a football game leads me to believe that you are either incredibly stupid or intentionally wasting my time. I am forced to assume the latter as you do have a website that is well designed.

As an accountant my normal rate is $150.00 per hour but in the interest of fairness I will only charge you for the 35 minutes I spent reading your dribble. Please remit payment in the amount of $80 via paypal to the address in the from box. I normally accept check payments but only on warm days in Columbus during the month of January.

Thank you for your time.

Going to revive the thread a little bit. I like Cowherd, but naturally don't always agree. He did mention on today's show that to all the Buckeyes fans out there - he dogs on Ohio State because they matter. If Ohio State didn't matter, he wouldn't say anything. Also, I didn't get to listen to a later segment on the show dedicated to ripping the Big 10, but I'm sure it had something to do with OOC scheduling.

In the spirit of the thread, I thought some of you might enjoy a little trip down memory lane, courtesy of ESPiN:

20 reasons why Miami will beat Ohio State

By Gene Wojciechowski

ESPN The Magazine

TEMPE, Ariz. -- I'll make it short and sweet: Miami 31, Ohio State 20.
Let me count the 20 ways. . . Continued

And here is Wojo's mea culpa after we proved him wrong.

Meh, I will be honest, I enjoy Colin more than I enjoy most radio hosts, sure he made an entire week out of bashing tOSU and that pissed me off, but what's he saying that everyone else isn't? He bashed us because he knew two things, one, no one who wasn't a fan would disagree, and two, we are a huge fanbase and it would get our attention. Granted, I enjoy it more when he bashes someone else, but meh, he's better than Dan Patrick or these two San Diego guys I have in the morning.

Feels like I'm beating something that has already passed, but since it's Heisman talk it's at least timely. ESPN radio hosts Ryan Ruscillo and another gentleman listed probable candidates for next year's Heisman.

Tebow, Chase Daniel, Michael Crabtree, Moreno, Graham Herald, Colin Harper, Todd Reesing, Sam Bradford, Kevin Smith, Jonathon Stewart, UGA's QB, Todd Boeckman, Deshaun Jackson and Ian Johnson. In that order, and the first three are "near certainties."

Not a single mention of Chris Wells. And just a quick mention of TB (they basically analyzed all their other probable candidates' skills). I wasn't listening because I was interested in their opinions. At this point, the interest lies only in predicting their obsurdity and being right. I knew they wouldn't mention Beanie because they haven't all year--not even after his performance in the state up north.

Then they welcomed Ed Cunningham as a guest and he said scUM is the best coaching job available because of (everybody say it with me).. the Big10 being an easy conference to win; it's just not the SEC where they have weekly slugfests. So I guess that's the way it's always been in the past, and it will be that way for the new coach's career at scUM, lol. They must rely on some funky revisionist football history at the espn sports center.

This isn't quite bulletin board material but it can be taken as a slight if you want. Kirk Herbstreit said he'd prefer Mizzou vs. WVU in the title game and that if it was tOSU-WVU it would be interesting to see the "power" of tOSU vs. the "speed" of WVU. Dance puppet, dance.

There it is baby!

KIRK HERBSTRIET SAYS LSU DOESN'T BELONG ON THE SAME FIELD AS OHIO STATE! He practically said we aren't man enough to stay with the Big Ten Champions for 4 Quarters! Let's get this out on the lockers of every LSU player by tomorrow morning!

kirk did not say that LSU would get whipped out.. Not even close he said what he said which was "it'll be interesting to see the power of OSU vs the speed of LSU". I'm sure you're just convicing yourself that so you'll have the underdog feel for the game, but sorry that large chip is on our shoulder not yours. Herbie of all people wouldn't say something like that this early before the game. Now if you wanna say Lou Holtz is dissing LSU and praising Ohio State then you can do that. The fact that Lou Holtz/Corso both said Ohio State has a good shot in winning is shocking to me. Corso really likes our running game which I don't blame him, but Herbie has not said anything bout Ohio State being 10 fold better than LSU. Herbie is very good at staying nuetral about certain games, especially big ones.

Hey, -LSU-, don't go away hating or thinking that we are inhospitable to our visiting team guests. Here's a little something for your personal bulletin board.

Ohio State is going to win the national championship game and it isn't going to be as close as you think.
