Hey, -LSU-, don't go away hating or thinking that we are inhospitable to our visiting team guests. Here's a little something for your personal bulletin board.

Ohio State is going to win the national championship game and it isn't going to be as close as you think.

I expect it to be a good game, and I hope you're team feels that they will win by a large margin as well :cheers:

I just think we can keep it close during the 1st half for TV. After that who knows...I'm not sure if we have the talent to line up and play the kind of smashmouth football game Ohio state is going to want to play...

kirk did not say that LSU would get whipped out.. Not even close he said what he said which was "it'll be interesting to see the power of OSU vs the speed of LSU". I'm sure you're just convicing yourself that so you'll have the underdog feel for the game, but sorry that large chip is on our shoulder not yours. Herbie of all people wouldn't say something like that this early before the game. Now if you wanna say Lou Holtz is dissing LSU and praising Ohio State then you can do that. The fact that Lou Holtz/Corso both said Ohio State has a good shot in winning is shocking to me. Corso really likes our running game which I don't blame him, but Herbie has not said anything bout Ohio State being 10 fold better than LSU. Herbie is very good at staying nuetral about certain games, especially big ones.

Yes that's what I'm trying to do...I hate that a lot of the early media buzz has been on our side so heavily. Hopefully Herbie, Corso and Holtz will swing it back in the other direction a little bit.

Well he already insinuated that OSU has more of a right to be in the BCSCG than we do please don't try to confuse us with your logic or previous examples of objective journalism, it won't work! Herbie lied about Miles to Michigan! The media hates LSU! It's all a conspiracy! argh!!

Herbie didnt lie...he reported factual info that many others also were ready to report...Saban...I mean Miles just backed out because he is a total dumbass

Now that's the spirit! I see a lot of y'all are pretty upset (rightfully) about some of the lack of respect you get from the talking heads this year. Well, there are two things to consider.

First, if Herbstreit, Corso or whoever disrespects your team, then you need to apply some pressure on them. Write them an angry letter or something. This LSU team we have this year is no better than any LSU team we've had since 2000. Yet, we'd never get any respect from Herbstreit, Corso, etc. So thousands of Tiger fans have written them thousands of death threats, promising to bomb their homes, etc. One Game Day at LSU, some angry Tiger fan tried to nail Corso in the head by throwing a golf ball at him. After that, the Game Day set had to surround itself within a big, protective net whenever it came to LSU. Anyway, I've noticed that after all the pressure that Tiger fans have put on Herbstreit, Corso, etc. to respect us or else, they have finally caved to the pressure. I mean it seems to me that LSU is now one of the most hyped teams in college football. Corso is practically an LSU fan now and Herbstreit warns all the new talking heads not to say bad things about SEC schools if they know what is good for their personal safety.

Second, if you don't feel like writing angry letters to the talking heads (I've never done it), then just realize that the talking heads are just entertainers. ESPN is the Entertainment Sports Network, not the Educational Sports Network. No educated college football fan cares what the talking heads think. Those guys are just up there to entertain, not educate... and they know it, too.

Wow, he's talking some major trash. He says that TOSU will get "crushed" by LSU just like last year against Florida. While I don't think that's a realistic expectation, I do think that's awesome that Georgia has a governor who talks smack about his state's premier football team. I wish we had a governor like that! I can't even remember the last time we had a governor that was a huge Tiger football fan (like Gov. Huey Long back in the day).

Er, listen, we were like pleased to help you guys out with a little mild smack, what with you all being visitors and all and knowing all about Southern hospitality personally for the last six months, but you're gonna have to find a place that hasn't previously been fished so intensively by Tibor76 ...This here pond has been all fished out...

Well, I wasn't surprised by our season this year. My expectation was that we would finish the regular season between 8-4 and 10-2. Arkansas and Kentucky were both on my list of teams that I expected our 2 to 4 losses would come from. As for the NC, I won't be surprised at all if Ohio State beats LSU down like a bunch of little girls. Ohio State has one of the proudest football traditions in all of college football. Ohio State's team this year is just as stacked as the LSU team. Tressel is a living legend as a college football coach. This NC game is going to be Ohio State's first and only game of the season that has major national interest (whereas LSU already had VT, Florida, and the SEC Championship). In addition, this LSU team has had a glorious run over these last three seasons, whereas Ohio State just went through one of the most humiliating defeats in college football history. So what it comes down to is that I think Ohio State wants this win more than LSU does. I'm just glad that this game is being played in the Louisiana Superdome. I'm just hoping LSU keeps it close. If LSU wins, I will literally go insane.

This thread is for Bulletin Board material provided by THE MEDIA for Ohio State. That is this thread's only reason for being.

Those of you who are LSU fans and are too narrow-focused to see that the media is providing far more of this for OSU than they are for your team; find or start a similar thread for your team on an LSU site.

Those of you who are LSU fans who think that we Buckeye fans are making too much of this; perhaps you should read the thread, but please don't post in it until you have. The overwhelming majority of the Buckeye fans on this site realize that, as little as we care about the media "bias" (personally, I think "laziness" is a better word, but that's a different topic for a different day), said 'bias' does motivate the players. They have said as much themselves. We therefore thought it would be nice to have a repository for this information that is of no importance or use to us whatsoever except for whatever small motivation it might afford the Buckeyes. Well, there's that and the fact that we find media stupidity to be ever so amusing.

Yes, I realize that there have been a few Buckeyes who have expressed frustration with the media in this thread and elsewhere. Those fans are the exception to the rule, but I will not bash them because I remember what it was like to be 16.

This thread is titled the "Official BCS-CG Bulletin Board Thread," that is, the Official BCS-Championship Game Thread. Yet, you say this thread's purpose is not "to talk about the game," but that "this thread's only reason for being" is for posting anti-Ohio State opinions by the media because "We ... thought it would be nice to have a repository for this information" because of the "motivation it might afford the Buckeyes."

Can the title of this thread be changed?

If so, I suggest a title such as "Repository of Anti-Ohio State Media Opinions for the Purpose of Motivating Our Team." Or something to that nature.

If not, I'd suggest not getting so upset with people who come to this thread thinking that this thread's purpose is "to talk about the game."
