Official 2007 Mock Draft Thread

An area in which the Pack Attack D has struggled lately is injuring players from the opposing offense. The opponent is no longer afraid to be tackled on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Management is tired of seeing the opponent get tackled and calmly rise to his feet and proceed unassailed back to the offensive huddle. We have elected to pick a player who will once again make it unsafe to lay on your back in the playing field.

With the 15th pick in the 2nd round, 47th overall, the Green Bay Packers select Brandon Merriweather, safety out of Da' U.

We would also like to formally file our petition for an increase in the legal limit for cleat length. The current limit is laughable at best and severly hampers our draft pick's ability to maximize his talents.

If you want a serious write-up regarding why the Packers picked Merriweather, too freaking bad. We needed a safety and he was the best on the board. Suck on it.

TRADE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Packers receive: NY Jets' 3rd round pick, #89 overall
RB Kevan Barlow

NY Jets receive: Green Bay's 3rd round pick, #78 overall

Excellent pick... the Jets felt he was a steal early in the 2nd before we mimicked the Jones-2nd round swap. Character issues seem to have little impact on Da U's NFL production. BW has tremendous athleticism that will bring a physical presence to your defense

The 3rd round swap worked out well for both sides. Barlow brings a veteran presence to a very green RB unit. NYJ strayed a little from the Pete Carroll RB plan, but retained their three best RBs in Jones (#1), Washington (3rd down & future) & Houston (power).

I cannot begin to express how pissed I would have been if we'd traded picks and then you'd taken Stompyweather before me. You should have at least tried to convince me he would still be available at 27/31. I'm pretty gullible, you probably could have talked me into it.

Green Bay pretty desperately needed an experienced running back. Barlow probably won't be the starter, but really wouldn't want to go into the season with just a rookie (Lynch) and a 3rd year guy (Vernand Morency) as the only backs on the roster.

Dang it Bucky... ya should have contacted me. Michael Turner was available for you. I just didn't think to offer you since you picked Lynch earlier. But then again you would not have like the guy I would have picked

P.S. - Screw you for taking Merriweather!!!

As long as we are trading players that we no longer have rights to, I'd like to announce that Bart Starr, Don Hutson, and Reggie White are all on the trading block.

You must think we're really dumb. By the way, what would you need to give up Ahman Green?

Tough one. Let me give it a try:

Just this ashtray. And this paddle game, the ashtray and the paddle game and that's all I need. And this remote control. The ashtray, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that's all I need. And these matches. The ashtray, and these matches, and the remote control and the paddle ball. And this lamp. The ashtray, this paddle game and the remote control and the lamp and that's all I need. And that's all I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one - I need this. The paddle game, and the chair, and the remote control, and the matches, for sure. And this. And that's all I need. The ashtray, the remote control, the paddle game, this magazine and the chair.

Given this recent news... the Seahawks are announcing that Stevens, Hamlin, Womack, Gray and Tobeck are all sticking with us for another year.
Consequently, my draft board just became a lot easier to manage.

REAL LIFE

The Ravens and Bills agreed to a trade Thursday that will send running back Willis McGahee to Baltimore in exchange for the team's third and seventh-round picks in this year's draft, along with the Ravens' third-round pick in 2008
