Durant is 6'10....I double checked after you said he wasn't, but 3 different sources (nbadraftnet, texas athletic page, and a quick article from google) all listed him at 6'10..as far as playing the post, the 5 games I've watched him in this year, yes he was very active in the post...he doesn't neceassarily post up, and play with his back to the basket, but he gets the ball in the paint, or gets it 18 feet out and plays a big-man's game when facing the hoop....the more I think about it, I'll say Dirk with a better handle and more slashing abaility...not as good of a J though

i don't understand why they would fabricate his height....what makes you say he isn't 6'10?...he looks it on TV....i also just saw him listed as 6'9 as well..it appears 6'10 more frequently.....either way, his game is less guard, more forward IMO

sheesh. watching durant against kansas, there can be no question who is the poy. he's 4-of-4 from the arc and has 20 of his team's 34 points. i wonder who would guard him. lighty or hunter? i'm sure both would. i wouldn't be surprised to see hunter taking the primary responsibility, though.

I dont understand how you can say he looks more like a forward. He shoots the three like a guard, he can dribble like a guard. Hes just a big guard who can get the rebounds.

ESPN acted like the ankle injury was the difference in the game against Kansas, but each team scored the same number of points after he twisted his ankle in the second half. Texas blew their big lead with poor defense at the start of the second half.

Chicago Sun

Knight right, in general; Oden, Durant exceptions

March 5, 2007
BY RICK TELANDER Sun-Times Columnist
Bob Knight recently said the NBA's rule that mandates players must be one year removed from high school before entering the NBA is ''the worst thing that's happened to college basketball since I've been coaching.'' And the General has been coaching since the invention of the skittering chair.

March Madness Pits Oden, Durant in No. 1 Debate: Scott Soshnick
By Scott Soshnick
March 5 (Bloomberg) -- On the night of June 28, inside the Theater at Madison Square Garden, National Basketball Association Commissioner David Stern will saunter to the podium and say:
``With the first pick in the 2007 NBA draft the (insert team name here) select (insert player name here).''
In theory, there are a host of names that might pass his lips at that tense moment. In the real world, only two players matter.
They are A) the University of Texas's Kevin Durant and B) Ohio State's Greg Oden.
They are billed as mega-skilled equals. Franchise-altering freshmen.
