On the flip side it’s not like the 5 star WR recruits have won us a natty or even a big ten title for that matter.I'd elevate Hartline to HC over Day in a hartbeat.....word play intended.
If he leaves OSU, offensive skill position recruiting is cooked, IMO.
He’s ready….is he disappointed in Day Kelly or is it the money. Or is it just time to be a HC—-
I would think he would try being a real OC before jumping from position coach to HC. That OC title was given to him so OSU could pay him more. By all accounts, he's not involved in play calling. Love Hartline and I'm sure bigger jobs are in his future, but gaining more experience is probably his best bet.is he disappointed in Day Kelly or is it the money. Or is it just time to be a HC—-
I believe one Urban Meyer and one Dabo Used Car Salesman were never coordinators but they were WR's coaches.... just saying there's a track record. He’s ready….
I also think he realizes his natural progression is not to a play-caller. He’s an elite WR coach and recruiter. Taking a coordinator job isn’t going to help his progression….
Just let him take a HC position, hire an elite staff, and let him cook.
Elite is elite….some dudes don’t crush the X’s and O’s but are studs when it comes to team management. The key is to know where you excel and where you struggle and lean into your strengths.I believe one Urban Meyer and one Dabo Used Car Salesman were never coordinators but they were WR's coaches.... just saying there's a track record.
They aren’t mutually exclusive. On the flip side it’s not like the 5 star WR recruits have won us a natty or even a big ten title for that matter.
IMO the focus needs to be the LOS.
Please explain. Maybe he can make the jump, but how wouldn't it help? He’s ready….

Uh, maybe that's because Hartline's efforts in recruiting haven't been spread across all positions. I think he'd be able to at least get the same level of OL recruits, but probably a higher level...maybe even a much higher level. On the flip side it’s not like the 5 star WR recruits have won us a natty or even a big ten title for that matter.

I’d like to see them do that then lol…Uh, maybe that's because Hartline's efforts in recruiting haven't been spread across all positions. I think he'd be able to at least get the same level of OL recruits, but probably a higher level...maybe even a much higher level.
