OC/WR Coach Brian Hartline (National Champion)

Which Buckeye had the greatest impact on the Ohio State history of the position he played?

If Hartline had asked me for my opinion, which he hasn't, would tell him to get more seasoning before he bolts for the 'big chair'. Within tOSU machine, he's made a name for himself, but without the seasoning, he might not be able to win in a more humble school. Promises to build a new stadium, etc made in an interview are worthless. So, without the funding behind hiring a Pantoni, Mick, highly touted OC and DC, let alone big NIL bucks, probably not going to be successful. Don't be fooled, these 5* WRs that flock to the Buckeyes, are not doing it for free. And doubt they'd be coming if they didn't see some good/great QBs to throw to them. Guess it all revolves around the Benjamins, and not necessarily just a big payday. He's a young man, and would hate to see him have to recycle, like Sark, Kiffin, etc.

This might be better in the rumor mill and if so, Mods please move.
Many of the Pedsters seem convinced that they are going to hire Hartline as HC. Has anyone seen ANYTHING that hints at him even being interested in that job? I know we unfortunately won't be able to keep him forever, but taking that job just seems like a stretch.

Jon Sauber (PSU reporter) has been adamant for months that Hartline is not a realistic option for Penn State and that they have dozens of other candidates ahead of him on their “list.”

I’m concerned.

After a very successful season, if the Buckeyes would lose a coordinator to Penn State, that could only completely ruin the next season.

I think they're desperate and throwing out his name because everyone else turned down the position rather quickly. And they're fearing that Terry Smith may have to be their only option

I feel like Brian Kelly would be the best option for a program that is cool with a coach that hurts/kills kids. That being said how much would you have to get paid to coach someplace that you've been trained to hate for 20+ years. If/when Hartline leaves, I think it will be out of the Big 10. ACC or Big 12 would be the best option to get an easier path to the CFP.

Like tsun after Rich Rod.

The fat garbage man said he'd walk to AA from San Diego for the job and just like that, he was hired.

Zach Smith reporting that the Kentucky AD is flying up to Columbus today to talk with Hartline.

He would be crazy to go to Lexington. I’ve done a lot of airport engineering work in Danville, KY, and I typically fly into and stay in Lexington. That place is NOT where Brian would excel at. There’s nothing about the city or university to attract big time football recruits.

His brother played there right? QB?

Plenty of insight from him if he needs. I don’t think it’s the move he’d make but if he wants to be a HC he’s gotta start somewhere. No expectations (but also no attraction).
