OC Arthur Smith (Official Thread)

This is what Art is man....that's the reality. This is what his offenses looked like in the NFL.

I was neutral on the hire at the time. His system just isn't a fit for what Ohio State has on the roster. Either he adjusts or they recruit players that fit his system. Since I don't believe either one will really happen, there will be a mutual parting of ways at some point after the season.

Yeah, I was hopeful as well....but geez, this offense at most points is just boring to watch. The college game favors aggressive offenses and Art is the exact opposite of that. With the ticky tack nature of defenses and the constant roster turnover creating a lack of depth, chemistry, and often times experience in the secondary, the teams that push the pace succeed the most. It was worth a try but time for both parties to move on.

Just a horrific hire that so many people identified the moment it was announced.

Unfortunately, it’s starting to to show on the recruiting trail now too. I know the portal is prob more important in today’s landscape of NIL, but OSU had been striking a great balance between HS recruiting and using the portal where necessary.

We’re starting to see some kids we’d have landed in the last opting to stay south versus giving us the trust to develop them. It’s going to be rough to watch Day try and win with similar talent to his peers…..
