I think Locker would have kept it closer, but Washington is pretty bad all around. Notre Dame ran the ball 20 plays in a row starting in the 3rd quarter I believe, and we can't run the ball for crap most of the time. Charlie at least pulled the 1st string at the appropriate time, we've still got Grimes out off and on due to back spasms, and very short on TEs after a list of issues.

I don't count Washington among Notre Dame's chief rivals. I count MSU, Michigan, USC, Boston College, and to a lesser extent Stanford. We apparantly play for a Legends Trophy, but the Stanford rivalry is always kinda...overblown. At least with MSU, Michigan, USC, and Boston College its always competitive, although 3 of those 4 get the better of us more often than not.

Pretty sure he was referring to UW-WSU as "the worst major college rivalry game in the history of football", not ND-UW. :)
