I like to laugh at both teams in that game. I'm terrible with which year was which, but didn't Gardner throw a 0-yard pick-6 one year? That was awesome. And it wasn't like the one Ohio State got against Michigan State, where he tipped the ball up and got the interception. This was a linebacker diving for a pass that was attempted to be thrown away to avoid a sack. And I think the line of scrimmage was around the 20 yard line.

I can't root for *ichigan. I guess I did in 2005 when they were playing Penn State, but that was because a Penn State loss put Ohio State back in 1st place (tied) for the conference championship. And maybe a couple of times since then. But a *ichigan win doesn't help Ohio State in any way. So eff those effers.

Go to about 10:37 of this video:

*ichigan had 2nd and 7 from the 20. He lost 4 yards (should have been more) to bring up a 3rd and 11 from the 16. Then instead of taking a 16-yard sack for a safety, he throws it where #7 can make a diving catch. Awesome.

Look, I was not born in this great state, but took two degrees from OSU [I’m so old that I am great-grandfathered on that definite article business.] and only lived here since the summer of 1971, but never does a true Buckeye ever say what you just said about _. We don’t (you well know what) on them if they are on fire.

Doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a Michigan loss. But I’d rather watch OSU beat a Michigan team that beat ND than one that lost to them. There’s at least a respect factor between OSU and Michigan. I have no respect for ND. Although the Marcus Freeman hire complicates things.

I respect Michigan too; I respect their god given right to suck every year.

The only opponent I don't respect is Penn State, because they shouldn't be allowed to play the sport imo.

Notre Dame... if we played each other more, it would probably be a rivalry. The dynamic has a lot of parallels to scUM from where I sit.
Including needing "Good Men" (from Ohio State and/or the State of Ohio) to fix themselves.

I call it a cold rivalry because they rarely play. But most rivalries are geographic and OSU, Michigan, and Notre Dame are these three Midwestern powers, all in the top 5 of all-time winning percentage, and with alumni and fans who live and work close to one another. There is definitely a mutual hatred there despite the fact that they rarely play and, really, rivalries are all about hatred. Who you most want to beat and to whom you most hate to lose.

I think it could have been a rivalry, but it's just not imo.
There is, as usual, 1 team I want to beat. I always love to beat ND... just like USC, scUM South, Texas, etc. ... but there's just 1 team that really matters. And that stress point is all the more important after last year. We let them get a little hope. Now we need to crush it.
We need to deadcat bounce Harbaugh.
